My Moms Glass Table Broke Yesterday by
Perkoff 3:16 Says I Just Whooped Your Ass
It's one of those tables you put on your deck outside, the wind picked
up the umbrella and when I went outside to play with my dog I saw it in
the pool, I didn't even notice the broken glass all over the deck.
So I picked took the umbrella out of the pool and was about to put it
back when I...

scoring pressure? by
Will Roberts
I'm fairly new to stained glass, and I am having a problem with scoring
glass due to a herniated disc. When I score many pieces of glass, I can get
numbness in my fingers; and that's something I want to avoid.
Someone told me I could practice with scrap glass on a bathroom scale to get...

First try at bead making by
Mark Russell
Alright I bought some glass and some bead release. I had some old
stainless steel rods laying around I used for mandrels.
All is good so far
I have a MAPP gas torch I was using (it is for soldering pipes not
glass) I figured I would try it then invest in some more efficient
equipment.
I see it...

Thermal Pane by
Michael[_2_]
I visited with a very nice lady at Southern Glass down here at
Jacksonville a few days ago. They were using a perimeter spacer and
adding a eighth-inch plate of glass to either side, making the panes a
complete and energy-efficient window between outside and inside.
Has anybody else done this? ...

Where to buy clear colored glass? by
DeanB
Anyone know where to buy large sheets (36x48") sheets of transparent
(clear) deeply-colored glass? Looking for red, cobalt blue, green.
If large sheets are not available, I've even had trouble finding
smaller sheets in completely plain clear glass in these colors.
Any help appreciated.

Hi folks
I'm trying to find a pattern for the "S" that Superman wears on his

Glass grinders. by
Bill Browne
I work in etched glass, not stained. But I like to work with odd shapes, so
I've considered a glass grinder, and I have a few questions.
I'm curious as to how badly the edge is chipped after its been ground. I
know the stained glass crowd puts came or foil around the edge, so it isn't
an...

Solding the Dragonfly lamp? by
AmazonJax
I'm making a Tiffany (Odyssey) 20" Dragonfly lamp. How to I solder the
spaces where the wings overlap? They are too far apart to bridge with
solder, and I tried to put foil there, but that became extremely
difficult. Any suggestions?

Lamp shade hardware by

I have a beautiful Tiffany lamp shade that was made for me by a relative. I
want to put it on a floor lamp. It has a 4 inch opening on top. I am having
a horrible time finding the hardware for mounting this shade. One of the
problems is I don't know the proper nomenclature for my search. Does...

EARRINGS, WHAT ADHESIVE DO YOU USE? by
Rick Frazier
I've a bunch of fused glass "buttons" that I need to attach posts and
clips to. I've tried CA cyanoacrylate (superglue) of various
viscosities, and have RTV and 5-minute epoxy currently under test. (but
don't have the results yet from the RTV and epoxy that is currently
being evaluated). The...

Real time posts? by
David W
I haven't posted to Rec.crafts.glass for several years. One thing I
don't understand is, why is there no real time posting? And, why does
it seem like some people view new posts sooner than others? From the
emails I've gotten, people were responding to my post long before I
saw it show up on the...

Help: Film on crystal stemware and vases by
John O. Riordan - Riordan Artistry
Hi Folks,
We have been repairing crystal for a number of years successfully,
but... we are getting more and more requests on the removal of some
cloudy film in the interior of (mostly lead crystal) glasses and vases,
etc.
We have tried the "CLR" product, and it seems always to remove
about 80% of...

I'm in trouble with my wife by

Looking for some help. My wife bought two stained leaded glass windows at an
auction a few years ago. No cracks, etc. I'm in the process of building them
into our basement redecorating project. I was stripping the wood frames and
the wind blew one over cracking the upper left hand panel into 4-5...

I'm discouraged... I have purchased three stunning Karona solid oak

came from the factory with scratches on the windows. Unfortunately, we
didn't see the scratches until after hanging, finishing, and removing
the "protective"...
