Help! Floss conversion needed for vintage kit by
Stephanie
My mom has found a stocking kit that my grandmother started in the 1980s. The
kit was put out by Sunset Designs and is titled "Following the Star."
Our problem is that the floss that came in the kit is missing and there are no
DMC or other numbers to help buy replacement floss. The colors are...

Seaside Treasures Floss by
House-mouse
I adore over-dyed and hand dyed floss so I was thrilled to find a new batch.
I bought the whole range of Seaside Treasures Floss and they are lovely plus
they were good people to do business with. The posting to the UK was very
quick and I can't wait to start using them. I already have almost all...

Ordering from Pinn Stitch? by
Carol Sylvester
Hi all--
Does anyone here have any experience ordering from Pinn Stitch, a Thai
company (www.pinn-stitch.com)? They have a couple of koi charts I want
(Chinese Blessing Fishes and Fish of Fortune), but am hesitant to use them
because I don't know anything about them. FofF is available through...

Needlework related mystery novels by
jane h.
Hi All,
I've been on a reading kick lately and would like to pick up one of the
novels that is a mystery with a needlework theme. I can't remember the
author's name but I remember quite a bit of discussion on the NG awhile
back. Can anyone help with the name and maybe suggestions if there is...

bunad embroidery by
Uniquedani
I am looking for bunad embroidery pattern/designs. I have searched and found
where to purchase a completed bunad costume or the history of bunad embroidery.
I don't necessarily want costume designs, but also table runners or smaller
piece designs. Also directions preferably in English. If in...

Trish's Traveling Sampler by
CANDY CORRIGAN
Hi Everyone!
I'm sorry to be so far behind the times. However, as I explained earlier, I
have been off line for several month now.
The last I heard Trish's Alphabet was nearing the end of it's travels.
Has it been completed and returned to her?

Classic Stitches Online Classes - Anyone Tried One? by
Allie Orange
I received an email from Classic Stitches that they are having an online
class on cross stitch in January. They plan on covering some of the finer
points, so I thought it might be worthwhile. Has anyone tried one of their
online classes and if so, how was it?
Here is the text of the email for...

To Lula by
Pirjo Ilvesvuori
You are the most welcome, Lula! You deserve every word I
wrote. Your journal motivates me to stitch. Why? My
shoulders refuse to let me to knit. So the only way to let
my needleworker side take me is to stitch.
Best: Pirjo

I came across this site yesterday. I had a lot of trouble with it, and so
didn't post it then. I kept getting a message for script errors, and am not
knowledgeable enough about computers to know what that means. However, it's a
hoot, and a bit like time travel back to the...

Divorce and cats!! by

I was just reading a news article and I quote," A judge in Taipei, Taiwan,
granted a divorce to a couple where the home wrecker was a cat. Chen
Tsai-wang, a Panchiao District Court judge, said the husband always allowed
the cat to sleep in the same bed with him and his wife. Unfortunately, the
cat...

Yet another use for floss by
Cheryl Isaak
I suppose it is surface work or perhaps appliqué, but I just finished using
floss to blanket stitch DD's Daisy (Girl Scouts) petals and center on. The
troop is using felt backed with iron on tape. I even matched each separate
color piece with the nearest shade of floss.
Wonder how many Mom's will...
