Lighting Recommendations by
Francis Vesey
I just bought a house with a basement, that has very little lighting and I
am looking for recommendations. What is best, when working with Stained
Glass. Flourescent, Incandescent or Halogen? Maybe, a combination?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Foiling - just around the edges of two panes of glass by
Mary
This isn't a stained glass project, but uses some of the same
materials. I'm hoping that this group can confirm whether I'm on the
right track.
I have an image on a clear decal that I am putting between two pieces
of 4x6 glass (project for my mom's church). I want to have a dark
metal border...

remember what the term for this colored glass is. Can someone assist with

intro - insanity strikes. by
Marc Donovan
Would someone please slap me. I'm about to
go from "hasn't made any stained glass in 10 years"
to "is going to have a serious go as a glass "artist"
(I'm really just a semi-decent tech who pretends) even
though he has to start from scratch".
Yes, I must have finally gone insane. But it's a
happy...

Stretching lead by
Bart V
While stretching some lead this afternoon I got to wondering, by how
much should you stretch it anyway? The way my homebrew stretcher works
it yanks it by about 3 to 4 inches. That's enough, too much or just
about right?
From the classes I took some time ago I remember you do it to the make
the...

A. L. H.
Greetings all;
I've always been interested in stained glass, but I'm finally getting to the

And what tools do I need, and what should I look for in...

AD : My first Lentils with Bullseye Glass ! by
bijoulune
Hi to all,
I would like to share my joy of making lentils beads. I just love making
that shape of beads, it's very cool to be able to put more details on a bead
because of the large space available on the flat surface of the bead.

glass tubing by
David Beeson
Greetings all,
My nephew's daughter (my grandniece) is interested in doing glass
artwork. She has a book that has many such projects in it but they
call for soda glass tubing. We have been unable to find a source
around here in northern Indiana. I'm hoping that some of you on this
fine group know...

Ramping up by
nJb
As a follow up to another thread.
Last night I was refiring 3 bowl blanks. 11" Diameter ~.280 thick. I
ramped to 1000F at 450F/hr. one of the blanks cracked. I think I'll
stick with the 300/hr rate.

Fusing/slumping/casting with kiln sitter by
Gordon Watt
I've done a little bit of kilnwork before, but have never managed to get
access to a kiln regularly. A friend has offered me a loan of her ceramics
kiln (she mainly fires tiles) fitted with a kiln sitter.
I appreciate that this isn't the ideal method of learning, but at present
the possibility of...
