Jerry-talc question by Liam Striker
Hi Jerry. I tried your talc trick to try and replicate a glass texture. First firing got a huge bubble. Slowed down the schedule to 200 deg/hr and the glass mashed down the texture in the talc about 50% after firing to 1400, and still had a bubble although much smaller. Do you have any...

Hydoperm details? by Liam Striker
I'm getting trapped air bubbles using hydroperm. I'm thinking that there might be 2 causes. #1. I am ramping up extremely fast to 1400 after the initial slow heat up to 1000. This is to try and avoid devit. My denver can do it in about 10 minutes which I'm thinking is maybe to fast and is not...

Cleaning leaded panels by G^2
Does anyone have any creative methods of cleaning leaded panels after soldering and before putty? (large panels, not ones that can go in the sink) How clean is clean enough? Any long term problems with zinc chloride flux residue? Regards, G^2

Using wood pieces... by Bart V
Hi folks, I plan on using some wood pieces (cut to the same thickness as glass) mixed in with regular glass pieces in some panels. Any ideas about whatever I can put on the wood so they'll stay untouched while cleaning and puttying. Something I can peel off when it's finished, maybe Mactac, some...

Choosing Lamp Bases for Stained Glass Lampshades by Suzan
Hi folks! I recently completed a nice 4 panel lampshade with a fish motif, and made (with a mold) a ceramic base for it. When I put them together, I found that the base just didn't look right with the shade. Both the size and the shape of the base didn't look right. Are there some guidelines for...

Repairing old stained glass in my house by Rodent
I have 2 stained glass windows in my house and although they seem sturdy and in fair to good shape I've noticed the metal work (came?) is turning white and/or corroding in spots. A closer look revealed that there is a coating (lead solder?) which is in good shape at all joints but the rest of the...
