Pieced BOM top finished by
Quilterin
That's it, another top finished. I used an attic window setting and
framed everything with the darkest blue I had. I had to piece the
border, as I did not have a piece quite big enough (noooo, I did not
miscut! That only happens to others, not to me....). Not the most
creative solution, but to be...

Taps for my Bernina? by
SNIGDIBBLY
Well she is probably dead - she sure smells dead - but I took her to the SM
doctor and will decide whether it is worth it to have her repaired. I
haven't used her much because I use my Athena 2000 most of the time. I
don't think I will ever buy another...

THREE CHEERS FOR TINA by
[email protected]
We finally had our meetup at G Street Fabrics, Tina and her delightful
family, DH John and DS Billy, Cappy, Danielle and her DH and darling
baby girl, the Count and I! The REALLY good news is Tina DOES NOT have
LAM, but a rare form of emphysema. We did a happy dance amid the bolts
of fabric, had...

OT - DH in the hospital, yet, again. by
Marlys in Indiana
Well, I am not happy to report that DH has been rushed to the hospital yet
again. He had been home for nearly 2 wks and I was beginning to feel a
little more relaxed in hopes that he would be reasonably O.K. He appeared
to be coming along slow but sure and, "zap", right back down the ladder.
It...

When someone says they like novelty fabrics, exactly what do they by
Phyllis Nilsson
consider to be a novelty fabric? There are so many, fruits, vegetables,
children, animals, camping gear, sewing notions, etc?
I guess my question is, if you like novelty fabrics, which kind do you
prefer?

Applique Annoys Me by
Sharon Harper
Truly, it does! I love the effects of a beautiful quilt that some people
manage to put together. How they get it so "real" looking. With me, it
just doesn't look *right*. I know what I want to do, and how I want it to
look but it just don't look ...... right.
Do any of y'all have that problem...

Enjoying RCTQ immensely -- Thanks! by
nickyname
I've been reading RCTQ for a few months and have enjoyed the quilts,
links and helps. I've learned so much that I must thank you for your
posts. It's time for me to introduce myself.
I've been quilting for a couple of years, having started in order to
have therapy time from a wonderful job that...

OT - Anyone use Vonage? by
AliceW in NJ
I am setting up my Tivo on the wireless network this weekend which will
eliminate the last need for a phone line. I am thinking of switching
to Vonage for phone service to help reduce the cost of our telephone
bill which seems to be skyrocketing every year.
Has anyone switched to Vonage and if...

Guess what I'm doing? ;) (Not OT) by
Sandy Foster
Yesterday was the day of the monthly get-together of a very small group
of quilting friends -- usually only three of us. We almost always spend
so much time talking, eating and looking at what we've all been doing
for the past month that we rarely actually accomplish any quilty...

IDEA FOR A SWAP by
Melissa in NJ
I am kinda feeling a swap bug (as in I want to be in one and host one).
Was wondering if anyone wanted to do a block swap...but in miniature.
Ran just like Teri's various swaps if you've been in them...you make as
many as there are particiants, with a theme or color (to be
determined), but the size...

Paper Piecing by
Dannielle
Ok, so now that I have delved into the world of string quilting, I
decided that not far from it is paper piecing. I went to Quilter's
Cache and picked a fairly simple looking paper piecing pattern to start
with. (http://www.quilterscache.com/D_F/DividedStarBlock.html for
those who are...

I am so happy to finish two quilts this week.

#1: Scrappy Log Cabin: which has been a WIP since 2003. I started this one
to keep my cotton scrap bin in check, and when I was finished all these
blocks, I didnt see any difference in the amount of...

was commissioned to do so it was still uncertain if the magazine would
indeed actually publish.
they are going to be published later this year if all is...

Finishers 2006 by

I'll Host the Finishers 2006 support group/challenge group. (Wendy
asked if there was one and no one seemed to be chomping at the bit to
run one, so why not)
Okay, this may be a moment of pure insanity but it's not like I have
much else going on right now right? I can't get hired to save my...

European block swap? by
Morag in Oxford
Hi ladies,
I'm thinking about planning a European block swap, shamelessly ripping off
Teri's "your pick" idea.
Everyone picks a "focus" fabric and then mails it off to the others at a
specified time. Deadlines are usually pretty long and last swap I was in we
completed 2 blocks every month. ...
