Follow-up about those shipping charges by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
CreateForLess.com agreed to refund my costs for returning the pink thread (I
ordered gray thread) and it took two more emails to get the original
shipping charges credited to me.
It's over and I have 'won'. All shipping costs have been credited back to
my credit card as well as the credit for...

Free Quilt Show for 6 months by
Sally Swindells[_3_]
I have just renewed my subs for Alex Anderson's and Ricky Tims' Quilt
Show and received the usually complementary 6 months free sub to pass on
to a friend. So... the first to e-mail me gets it, if I am clever
enough to send it!
Ready, steady, GO!

OT Christmas vacation is coming by
NightMist
And boy do many of us need stuff to keep little ones occupied!
Here is a contribution to the cause:

Between making it and marveling at it this should be good for keeping the
munchkins out of trouble for at least a whole...

OT - Long health report: Post Thanksgiving Frolics - NOT by
Rita L. in MA[_2_]
Good Morning,
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I'm happy to report that I did
too and am looking forward to a wonderful Christmas. It is the bit in
between that is being a bit dodgy. :-) I apologize to those of you who
have heard some of this already and promise to keep this brief. ...

OT clear elastic by
Taria
So, I am bringing out the Christmas decorations.
Amongst the 'heirlooms' are some holiday dolls
I made maybe 15-20 years ago. The elastic in the
clothes (mostly sleeves) was the clear type and is completely gone. Not
just dead stretch but totally
GONE. Anyone know anything about this stuff?
Is...

Quilters' Newsletter controversy by
Kimberley I. Graham
Taking the stance that the best offense is a good defence, Quilters'
Newsletter printed a letter from a reader who was absolutely incensed that
one issue did not include a pattern for the cover quilt: she demands the
magazine send her the pattern or ELSE!
The magazine's editor replies that...

Hobo Quilts pattern CD by
Susan Laity Price
Some of you might remember my disappointing review of the book "Hobo
Quilts" by Debra Henninger. I was happy to learn today that an EQ 6 or
7 compatible CD is now available for all the patterns in the book. The
patterns for the CD were prepared by Barb Vlack who is an expert in EQ
and a very...

OT Message to Polly by
Ms. Ann
Polly, I am a longtime lurker and I've been wanting to say something
for a long time. The way you phrase things in your postings reminds
me so much of my mother. She was also clever, unconventional and had
a positive outlook. In some ways you are very different - she was a
Yankee through and...

Polly's Hunter Star Quilt photos by
Jennifer in Ottawa
I think that it is a wonderful quilt! The extra work involved of
using both red and white quilting threads were worth it - perfect
choice. If you look closely at the full view photo of the Hunter
Star quilt, there is a teaser of another quilt project showing -
'small dresses' from a Fons&Porter...

OT - need positive vibes by
IMS[_6_]
We had major major rainfall and flooding today - the culvert at the
end of our driveway completely clogged up with debris coming down the
hill as it was flowing so fast -- then water ran down the driveway
--we now have 2 feet of water in our basement which is a complete
disaster area; we lost a...

Partially OT - Eureka! by
Bev in TX
I did a fusible web applique project around 1.5 years ago, using
Steam-A-Seam 2. At that time I had quite a bit of problem with that
product, so I contacted the manufacturer, The Warm Company, to find out
what I was doing wrong. It turned out to be a problem with the product,
rather than me. ...

You can see the Flower Garden Quilt I made for myself. I made another of

Partly OT Fabric caulk? by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
This is about A Blonde With A Gun. A caulking gun.
This morning I decided to make the insulated, quilted Roman blinds for my
laundry room. But then I really should paint the laundry room before
putting up the hardware for the blinds. Gee, there's a little crack up by
the ceiling, so I'd...

Winter by

Ach! Glad you're both safe. (The brother of a friend of mine crashed
his truck, airbag popped, and now he can't see out of one eye because
of the impact. Might clear up, might not.)
Get a new car in the spring -maybe winter will strike your old car
again, it's early days!
Be safe!
