What I'm working on by
frood
I'm taking a week off from making samples for my Block Party (I'm the guild
committee for this) to make this quilt for my mom. She just turned 75 last
week, and has been asking me for a quilt for some time. Now that my shoulder
has recovered somewhat, I started working on hers. It will be...

Kool Kats Kwilt by
Betsy Ross
A few months ago I posted PDF files for
the Kool Kats Kwilt. Well, I broke down
and did it, sort of. LOL, the pattern
says to follow the picture to arrange
cats. The scan was in black and white.
It didn't really matter since I was not
following the recommended cutting
instructions for 13 or so...

HUG Quilts by
Sharon
Do we ever see any of the finished Hug Quilts these days - just wondering. It used to be so nice to go to that site and see them all, but I realize that was a lot of work to keep on ... it was much appreciated tho'.

A walk(ing foot) in the park by
KittyG
That sounds great Diana! I'm having trouble finding a walking foot for my
Brother, not a lot of info on the website (not one of their expensive ones
so very little on it !) so I know what it's like. Great it makes the MQ job
so much easier, one day, one day....

Note to DH's and us too by
GrammyKathy[_2_]
When you go to the store to get punkin pies be sure to read the box
and not just look at the picture, you could be getting Sweetpotato
pie. My DH brought home 2 of them so had to go back to the store to
get punkin, I usually make them from scratch but not this yr.

OT Need gift suggestion by
Pat in Virginia
With the holiday season starting soon, I find I need to buy at least one
grab bag or gift swap gift. We will be picking one and then others have the
chance to take it away. The gift should be worth about $10.00 and be
suitable for men and women of all ages. Only one is a quilter, so I won't be...

Unveiling my quilting studio! by
Leslie& The Furbabies in MO.
Some of you may know that about 4 months ago I purchased a delightful,
rambling, 90 y.o. house. She's a real character (just like me!)- added on
to and remodeled many times over the years. This house has 8 different
levels! Some are only a step up or down, some are a few steps- and there's...

Yellow Brick Road Pattern by
Valerie in FL
I am making a king size for my bed. I just finished cutting out all the
pieces, and it went quickly, using the Shape Cut Ruler (which is worth every
penny in my opinion, NAYY). It finally dawned on me that I was supposed to
sew some strips together BEFORE I made the secondary cuts. Am I the only...

G'day! by
Trish Brown
Hello everyone! I posted here a few times about five years ago, just as
I was beginning my first quilt. I was slow to get started, I think
because I was scared to cut into expensive fabric without really knowing
what I was doing. I'm sure you remember how it is? ;-D
Anyway, long story short,...

rolling sewing machine tote by
threads
I am wondering what you all think is a good price for a rolling tote
for a sewing machine. I have the 6600P which is a little longer than
say a Bernina so I can't use the tote I use for my Bernina 910.
Thanks,
Marsha in nw, Ohio

OT Holiday food by
Sally Swindells
Having just collected Fat Sid the Turkey I wondered what everyone else
has to eat on Christmas Day?
We aim to eat at about 1.00p.m. and start by pulling crackers (not
biscuits) reading out the pathetic jokes, wearing the paper hats and
playing with the little plastic toys etc that come in them....

Old Girl Scout fabric by
Pati Cook
When I was a Senior Scout, there was a "fad" to put all the badges and other
insignia from our previous Scouting onto the "wheat" colored Levi jackets.
Still have mine there. We wore them a lot.

sewing room "messy disease" by
Musicmaker
I have a suggestion for all those who have a messy sewing room that
they can't manage to completely clean up. Get a puppy and put her cage
and food dishes in the sewing room. The damage that she does will be a
HUGE motivation to PICK UP!!!!!

Quiltcut by
Edward W. Thompson
Has anyone any experience/comments concerning 'Quitcut'? From
articles on the 'net' it appears to be a 'must have' device but there
seems to be very little real life information from those that use it.
It also appears that many who initially stocked the device now list it
as 'discontinued'. Is...

Introduction by
Uschi
Hi,
as I've been lurking since the beginning of the year, I think it is time
to introduce (or reintroduce) myself.
My name is Uschi, I am 44, single, work as a secretary and live in
Vienna, Austria (Europe). I used to be here years ago, I think I droped
out sometime in 2000. Life got in the way...

2007 Resolution Quilty Projects by
Kate G.
Okay... I'll be the first to ask...
What are your top 3 projects (quilty related -- not necessarily sewing -- could be reorganizing
sewing room, putting all your books in a spreadsheet...) that you are determined to complete this
year.
Mine?
1) A quilt for my mother-in-law
2) Snowball quilt
