OT Halloween Horror Nights Rant by Nurse Ratched
Does anyone else live near a Universal Studios attraction? I do, and they've been running ads for their Halloween Horror Nights event. The ad shows a maniacal-looking guy ("The Director") setting up camera shots of a terrified man in a bathtub full of water, who is then electrocuted (you see...

OT - Scout Camp (joke) by LN \(remove NOSPAM\)
Dear Mom And Dad, Our Scoutmaster told us to write to our parents in case you saw the flood on TV and are worried. We are okay. Only one of our tents and 2 sleeping bags got washed away. Luckily, none of us got drowned because we were all up on the mountain looking for Adam when it happened. Oh...

Quilting a Quilt by Dustbunny \(Christina in OK\)
I have noticed that some of my stitches are coming out of some of the quilts that have been quilted after they have been washed a few times.. I am using 100% cotton thread, can anyone tell me why this is? Should I be using something else to quilt with?

Christmas Stocking HELP by David & Barbara Schmidt
I am making lots of stockings for my table at the upcoming church craft bazaar. My question is: I am using lots of different ideas and patterns and some of them say to make a lining and some don't. Most of my stockings will be made out of denim. Some are going to be flannel and some are regular...

Butterfly's Wings (another FAQ) by Butterfly
Stolen from the archives: A little bit about Butterfly's Wings, mostly for the Newbies, who've not been here long enough to know what we're talking about. Butterfly has had a wounded Wing, but even then, she was known to "lend" her Wings, when some of us (we do care a great DEAL about each other,...

question about printers for fabric by Dr. Quilter
I know some printers are OK and some are not. I can use a B&W HP 4000 and a colour 4600. Been looking online at the HP site and found that the second one is a laser, but can't tell exactly what the first one is. I also have a 932c, which is a deskjet. Susan Dundrig from About.com says Laser is OK...

OT - off to Branson, page two by Queen of Squishies
I'm not going. We got a call just minutes before we walked out the door, from my Dad's housekeeper / cook. He's been doubling up on his sleeping pills, taking Benadryl with them, and hallucinating at night and trashing the apartment. He has even gotten out of the apartment, running around...

What time of the day do you quilt? by Liz and Steve Ford
Hi Alice I quilt anytime of day but find myself really winding up at about 9.00 pm. Think it is the peace and quiet of the house, no phone calls and you know no one is going to need you for a while. What about you? Liz Ford Waikiki Western Australia "AliceW" wrote in...

Our Military Personel by CreativePain
I appreciate I am not a regular on this group really, but I thought I would just say that 296kb is a hell of a lot for a dial-up connection to deal with. It's not on topic for the group, nor marked as OT (so OT filters won't have picked it up). Also, it contains pictures where this is a text only...

OT Now I've got a tree... by shhdesigns
Just came in from our courtyard after taking pictures of the tree that blew/fell over last night. It landed in our reflecting pool about 6 p.m. last night. I never heard a thing! One of my neighbours tells that he noticed he could see more of the river past the tree yesterday morning and they...

Gutterman thread #30m by QuenMaeve
Hello All, I love using Gutterman thread. I use the heavy top thread, 30 m for sweatshirts. But here in SO. California I am not finding any stores that carry it. I haven't had much luck online either. Hope you all know someplace I can order it. Thanks, Queenmaeve Judy

looking for fabric by Leafyeb
I am going to make a little quilt with limes, and hot peppers on it, and was looking for something to go with it, one or 2 more prints. Maybe fabric with margaritas on it, or hot sauces. Has anyone seen anything like it? Leafyeb
