I was talking to a friend last night and he was saying that his mother had
sent him another quilt........ANOTHER???? Apparently he about 10, he's not
sure. About now I'm rolling my eyes and feeling the need for cool sips of
water. I then launch into a "do you have any idea of what you've...

Designer II by Viking/Husqvarna by
Debbi
Welcome to the group Tammy. Yes there is hope. I am older than you and my
7th grade teacher was unbelivably horrible (first thing we made was a terry
cloth beach cover-- she hated my seams and constantly made me pull them
out). I am the proud owner of a D2 like you. Take all the free classes...

Has anyone tried a "Magic Tiles" quilt? by
mrsb
Has anyone tried a "Magic Tiles" quilt? A friend said she had just finished
one, so I looked it up. Looks like a "Stack 'n' Slash" (which I HAVE made)
with sashing. Also, the one I saw was a kit you could buy.

How do you quilt? by
Janner
I hand quilt, but I can never seem to find a comfortable chair or position
to do this. How do you do it? Are there any stands that help? I have a
quilt that I want to get finished, but it is just a case of finding
somewhere or a position to sit in. Where do you rest the rest of the quilt,
so...

Here is a compilation of a lot of what others have already about buying a
first machine, plus a couple of other comments. This FAQ also applies to
those
who are in the market for a new machine, having used one particular model
for a few(?) years. Many thanks to Salley...

What is a HUG by
Butterfly
Stolen from the archives by Miz Sairy:
What's a HUG?
I've been on long enough, folks (although NOT since the earth cooled, as
some might think :-) ) to jump in here. Until recently, I thought I'd
received the very first HUG-quilt (which is indeed ENORMOUS, and
breathtakingly beautiful, and the...

Poem for Labels by
aeromom
Does anyone have a quilters poem that can be used on quilt label?
I am looking for something special to put on a baby quilt label. Any poem
would do though cause it could be changed to fit the quilt.
Not just the quilters name, but a lovely little poem to go with it.

TuTu's ribbon! by
Kathy Applebaum
I haven't seen our Tutu blowing her own horn here, but we have a ribbon
winner in our midst!
My gang went to PIQF yesterday (and yes, our quilt is just lovely hanging up
there *grin*), and had a fabulous time. We saw quilts, we ate, we saw
quilts, we shopped, we ate some more, we shopped some...

Doin' the Monster Mash! by
frood
It was a graveyard smash! It caught on in a flash!
Trick or Treat Around the World is done!!! This may be my fastest quilt
yet - it took about a month. A little longer if you count the time I left it
up on the design wall before I figured out how to make it work with a light
border fabric.
I'm...

Getting Ambitious :D by
AlenasMom
I was showing DH the limited quilting patterns that I have (from a really
old Reader's Digest book called "Back to Basics") and he really likes a
modified "Windmill" pattern. (There's the 9 squares of the windmill and
then a border around them.) I can't believe it, but I'm actually going to
try to...
