What to do with 20mm Donuts by Joe
I have many 20mm donuts (glass and gemstones) . I don't know what to do with them. I have used larger donuts (30-40mm) as pendants on cords but I don't like the looks of the smaller ones. Does anyone have any suggestions for using these. TIA

Cutting a jade ring by Tasha
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me - I've recently bought a ring from a Chinese source which was claimed to be made of black 'agate jade'. I'd like to get a hole cut in it, in order to customise it as a special gift for a friend. I gather that we're talking about a pretty hard substance here, but...

Looking for better source for 14/20 GF wire by Jim Caldwell
Rio Grande charges 21.00 per ounce for any size/type of 14/20 gold-filled wire. I am thinking there is probably a cheaper source than Rio. Any ideas?

more white gold by robert merritt
I am to set a stone in a white gold ring using a bezel setting. I am a little cautious about rolling 14 k white gold into bezel wire. Is it usable? Are there any tricks to know about it compared to a silver or yellow gold bezel? RM

Engraving in Gold/Silver... by Samiel
It seems like engagement rings are all silver or platinum these days... but I'm a bit partial to gold. Maybe I should change my thinking? Anyhow, I was thinking about my plans for purchasing an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I would kind of like her name and a few horses lightly engraved...

Ring Finished by Jack Schmidling
Today I soldered on the bezel and contoured the top of the ring to fit the bezen and mounted the stone. The stone is an Amazonite (I think) which we found in the garden while tilling. We found one last year and two this Spring. I am itching to go till up the garden. The photo of the competed...

Pewter by Jack Schmidling
I am looking at a really nifty chalice that I want to stud with my cut gems. Unfortunately, the only one I really like is made of pewter. I have been gold plating silver things with good results but I can find no info on plating pewter. Is there any reason why it can not be gold plated with the...

My Wife and I recently appraised some jewellery left to her from her mother. It was appraised at $23-24,000 CDN as a set. (I haven't looked at the actual certificates to see what items are worth what, as the appraisal was finished today, and I haven't picked the stuff up yet) I have two...
