only one block finished this week by
Susan Laity Price
Only one block was finished this week, Japanese Scrap Quilt #470 in
Maggie Malone's 5,500 Quilt Block Designs. It is very pretty but one
of the more difficult blocks. The sewn block is one of those "should
be seen from a galloping horse" creations. My points are not the best
but the block is...

Hullo again! by
Pat S
Well, In spite of what all you dear friends said (and what I had tried
to do to follow advice) I made every mistake in the book, and then some.
Last evening saw me at the neighbour's door, asking if I could borrow a
knife, to get, at least, some bread + something (anything I could find!)
for...

Found something I REALLY like! by

Ok so I was bored with seeing a zillion patients this morning,
covering both my consults and those of a colleague who is on holidays,
and I decided to google for teddy bear quilts. I ended up finding
this, and fell in...

safety gloves and rotary cutting by
Martha[_6_]
I use a cut-resistant glove on the non-cutter hand, because I know I can
be a klutz.
I'm a chemist, so know about the companies that supply us.
And so I ordered this from ColeParmer:
EW-86289-60
Best® D-Flex Cut-Resistant Glove, Full-Face Natural Rubber Dotted
$10.00 / each (USD)

Batting question by
L
I'm fond of making quilt tops -- but, I have never finished a quilt. Oh, I
came close, a couple of times, but the 'tied' first quilt begged to be
undone and made into a 'real' quilt before binding. And the sailboat baby
quilt had been straight-line quilted with 'invisible' thread before I read...

lots of felt, ideas needed by
Puffins
I have a huge bag of felt pieces and I'm at a loss of what to do with it? I'd
love to use it in my classroom but need some ideas. I can sew or glue or
whatever. I think you need to use fabric glue on this as I think regular white
glue sort of seeps through and looks bad. Any ideas besides...

Guys, I'm sorry...i replied to a cross posted message without realizing it, and

OT - Swollen cat! by
Johanna Gibson
I just finished hoovering and Sasha - Siamese sealpoint - came over
to me, which is unusual because she usually hides for a while.
As I was stroking her, I noticed that her left ear is swollen up.
It's huge! It seems to be full of some liquid, but is rock hard all
the same. I have no idea what...

All about me - slightly OT by
Alan Johnson
Hi, everyone.
I have only been quilting for about 6 months. My first attempt at a quilt
was for my baby daughter, who is now 10 months old. I had cross stitched 8
blocks of Teddies with stars and moons and wanted to make a quilt out of
them. After making the quilt my niece asked me if she could...

Care and Feeding of Quilts by
Marcella Tracy Peek
I had an interesting conversation yesterday.
My uncle is in town visiting. He loves quilts although he does not make
them. Last time he was here I gave him a quilt which he has hanging in
his stairway out of the sunlight.
He said to me. "Your Aunt Kathy gave me a quilt she had made...
