Ideas for Half-Square Triangles? by
Johanna Gibson
Hello,
I have been cutting 3 7/8" squares out of scraps for a long time.
When I get a moment, I match a dark and a light together and make some
HSTs. Now I have quite a few.... Does anyone have a good idea for a
layout? I don't want them all to just face the same way. I want
something with a...

Vintage Hankies by
Patti S
Since you all have given me fabulous and useful advice in the past - I'm
going to ask for your guidance on one more topic. I received a huge
plastic bag of vintage hankies that used to belong to my grandma. There
has got to be at least 70 or 80. I instantly thought "quilt" when I saw
them. They are...

Finally finished something! +pictures by
Susan Torrens[_2_]
I feel like have haven't completed a thing, but have been sewing regularly.
I have made and gifted 5 baby quilts, and I have 3 homemade quilt kits ready
to take south. I also have 5 or 6 quilt tops with binding hanging in my
closet - just not much completed.
My youngest nephew is getting married...

Art quilts: where do I start? by
WhansaMi
I've now made two bed quilts, two baby quilts, and am finishing up a set of six
placemats (using Timm's Convergence technique). So, I'm not exactly a total
novice anymore, but I'm still very, very, VERY inexperienced. I've only used
very basic piecing techniques.
Ultimately, I want to make art...

Emilia
Hi everyone: Hope you are all well. I haven't had any new threads (so to
speak) in a while. I'm happy to have a question to ask after such a long
time. Actually, it's more like I need some advice....
Basically my mother in law really doesn't like me but we have to give her a
christmas present. DH...

Most of us are over on Face Book now and Karen Tucker (Queen of Squishies) is doing another directory. You don't have to be on FB to be in it. If you want to be in it I'll let her know.

Basting a quilt by
Rose in CA[_3_]
My absolute, hands down, NON favorite part of our favorite activity is
basting. I will finish a top and leave it for years and years, just
because I HATE to get down on the kitchen floor and stick stupid
safety pins all over the quilt and then fasten them and then unfasten
them again when I want to...

OT Frosting Emergency! Can this frosting be saved? by
frood
I don't know what went wrong, but I think I need to start over again! DS
wants chocolate frosting for his birthday cake (this afternoon!). I got out
my trusty Betty Crocker cookbook and found a recipe for fudge frosting that
sounded wonderful! I followed the instructions: 1/2 c sugar, 1 T corn...

Searching for ????????? by

Okay I'm going to give you all a challenge. I saw a square on
somebody's ebay store and I'm trying to find the name of it or a book
it's in something?????
I'll try to describe it but I'm not good at that. Think of a center
square with an on point sq in the center....then 8 star points with
white as...

Megwen Woodham[_2_]
My 8yo nephew is a great Doctor Who fan. I was planning a quilt for him now
that he has his own bedroom and would love to find Doctor Who fabric to back

New Quilt Pix "Spring Lake" by
Bronnie
Finally finished this quilt for a raffle at a local Art & Craft Show
for our guild. It was a real trial to finish because the flowers were
hand appliqued on to the pieced background and it was difficult to
decide how to machine quilt around them. With hand quilting it is
easier because you can...

Lessons Learned.... by
deMoMo
Lessons learned from making a stained glass nativity wallhanging. (So
far)
1. Although there may be no theological necessity for having Joseph
on the left and Mary on the right (or vice versa), there are people
who feel VERY strongly on both sides.
2. Done may be better than perfect, but...

Tonight I am having to post from Google, which I really do not like. I
have seen things mentioned in the past about good places to use. I am
willing to pay for my news if I have to just to read this group. I
have done searches for usenet on line and come up with just google and

Forgive my spelling, when venturing into foriegn languages it is even

I was shopping today, sort of. Browsing for a new washer as my 15

fix that I might as well buy a new one.
While we were in Home Depot I...

OT -- PDA vs paper planner by
[email protected]
Between you guys and some other local friends, I've been heavily tempted
to buy a PDA. I've researched and chosen one I like (the Palm Zire 71),
but I'm still trying to resolve some questions.
(1) Will I really use it as much as my paper planner? I use the Franklin
Covey system now and really find...
