Holloway HUG by Mika
I wanted to wait until I could get confirmation that Dave & Robin Holloway received their HUG quilt before I posted about it. I just got off the phone with Dave and they have received it. They really like it and really appreciate all the effort that went into it. They wanted me to pass along their...

New quilter by Catherine
Hello ladies and gentlemen, I've been wanting to begin quilting as a hobby for as long as I can remember - since about age 14 when I saw my grandmother's beautiful handmade quilts, and I'm 37 today. I don't own a sewing machine and don't know how to use one as I've never really tried. I never...

OT Alpaca sweater by [email protected]
While at the reeealy big Houston show, I tried on an alpaca cardigan designed with jewel colors in almost a tumbling block design, and had to have it. Anyone know how to care for it? The sales person said "Don't use Woolite." TIA Nancycog in MD

Needle-turn applique question by Trixie
I seem to miss out on excellent classes put on by our LQS because I work during the day. What I would like is some kind of Internet tutorial on needle-turn applique, either one with lots of diagrams/pictures or one that is video. Does such a thing exist? Trixie

those darn roman shades (again) by DrQuilter
not quilting related, but sewing. I need you guys' help. I decided to add the blue border to the roman shades yesterday. after pinning one side and holding it up to the window we realized that won't work. looks like the fabric shrunk funny: more in the middle, less on the top and bottom edges, so...

After all of the talk about a mini rr and looking at the wonderful pix, I am inspired to start another group. I did not get in the Canadian one in time, so I wanted to see if anyone else is interested in swapping with me round robin style. I don't want to start until after Christmas, since my...

It may not be Huston but . . . . by Cheryl in Oz
We had only 10 days notice to gather the quilts for our small local quilt show this year. It is held in conjunction with the Art Show to raise funds for a local school. When we didn't hear from the organisers we assumed that it would be a bi-annual event. Last year we had over 80 quilts. This...

Rotary Cutters - aGAIN! by Tina
Ok, could someone please explain this phenomenon to me? We sew right? We use rotary cutters, to cut up little pieces of fabric, which we then sew back together, right? We pride ourselves, us wonderful quilters, on precision piecing, corners meeting, 1/4" perfection, right?
