Ronald McDonald Houses by
Susan Laity Price
A new Ronald McDonald House is being built near our local hospital. We
haven't had a local one before. The nearest was in Chicago at a big
university hospital. Have any of you ever been involved with a Ronald
McDonald House? Do you know if they accept quilts for use at the house
or keep them on...

Help with Irish Chain fabric calculations please? by
Trish Brown
I'm trying to work out the amount of fabric I'll need to make a Triple
Irish Chain to fit my king-sized bed. There are a few websites with
patterns and cutting guides, but nowhere does it say what yardage of
fabrics to buy.
The main thing I want to know is: how much of the background fabric...

OT Christmas cards by
Polly Esther[_5_]
I love Christmas cards. I DO Christmas cards. But, the pure truth is, I'm
not likely to wallpaper the foyer with them or some other clever crafty
notion and I've saved them for many years. It seems to me that some noble
charity likes to receive the fronts of cards for one of their fundraising...

Too tired to quilt? by
Polly Esther[_5_]
I knew I was - but - I thought I'd plod a long and get a little done. Next
step was piecing a backing for a Wounded Warrior quilt. I carefully
measured the top and cut the first piece of backing generously. Then, I
needed to divide the rest of the backing into two pieces and seam them to
the...

Twin Needle FM ? by
Polly Esther[_5_]
One of the quilters over on the Bernina group has discovered quilting with
twin needles and says that it is beautiful. I would just so much hate to
kill a $5 twin needle but I'm thinking I'll have to give it a try. The
opening for my quilting foot looks wide enough and I really will try to go...

I finished 2 quilts for Piecing Hope, labels on, and both in the washer.
These are the first quilt projects I've completed in months. Now I can get
my new SM out of the box and explore and get to know her.

Postcards to my son for his 3rd birthday? by
Jo Gibson[_3_]
Hello folks,
My wee boy will be 3 on Janury 19th. (How did that happen?) He brings
the post in every day, and always says, "It's all for you." Or, "It's
all for you and Dada - there isn't any for me." Of course, there were a
few packages with his name on at Christmas, but that is all done...

Bloomin' where I'm planted by
Polly Esther[_5_]
Here I am: world's happiest crib quilter. So. What am I doing? Stitching
washable diapers. There's a 50 yard bolt of bird's eye diaper fabric here.
It's possible to cut/stitch 3 newborn diapers per yard. The task would bore
me silly but some moms are desperate - using wadded toilet tissue in...

OT New Words by
NightMist
Ash has put together more words in the past few months. Very good
progress verbally, though sometimes it takes a bit of an effort on our
part to suss out what he is saying just because he has trouble with
enunciation.
Some time ago I knit together a bunch of purple and white yarn scraps to...

New Year's Intentions? by
Mary in Rock Island IL[_2_]
I am not a fan of resolutions. However, the combination of weather,
time and lack of space has led me to decide that I must shovel out my
lair. It is getting difficult to work in there so I plan to create
working space.
Who knows? This may also lead to finding some forgotten projects...

Can a finished quilt be signed at a wedding without ruining it. by
Beth Jones
My future daughter in law wants me to make a quilt in the colors of the
wedding for her to use as the registry at the wedding. So everyone would be
signing the quilt as they came to the wedding. Making the quilt is not the
problem. I know that there are a lot of people who sign a piece of fabric...
