OT We have a new GRANDSON!!! Pics, too! by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
In a last minute surprise, my DS#2 and DDIL had their baby yesterday!
She had been having bleeding troubles, so was admitted to the hospital
Tuesday morning. They were going to keep her a week and then induce
labor. The bleeding got heavy just an hour after the docs made that
decision, so they...

OT - IExplorer window won't stay open by
LN \(remove NOSPAM\)
I have XP and use DSL. Last week my computer was attacked! I was using AVG
antivirus. I was getting notified of trojan viruses left and right (same
files over and over), porn popups (which really grossed out my kids), and my
home page was getting hijacked. I ran adaware, tried Stopzilla (which...

OT a new feature of Frappr and a poll by
Anne in CA
The Frappr guys (generic term including guys and gals) have added a
feature for custom pins. There are 5 different colored pins now and they
can be set to any meaning the admin specifies :-)
Would you like me to activate this feature on the RCTQ map? If so, what
should the 5 colors be set to...

Has anyone found (fabric) Jelly Rolls uneven? by
Susan Laity Price
Thought I better but the word fabric in the subject line so we won't
waste time on all the pastry comments.
I sewed with a Jelly Roll package for the first time today. It was a
Hoffman Batik for which I pay $36! Every piece was to have been a 2
1/2" strip. I was very disappointed at how poorly...

cut of a fabric showing newspaper print. My daughter needs some for a
project she has in mind and as with all 15 year olds nothing else will

Cutting borders from lengthwise grain? by
Adella
Do you always cut your borders from the lengthwise grain? I know that's
what the books say and I understand the rationale.
But....I don't have enough fabric to cut the borders for my baby quilt
along the lengthwise grain.
So I'm cutting them crosswise.
Will I go to quilt jail? Will my borders be...

stolen quilts - how frequent by
[email protected]
How do you insure a quilt? My insurance company will not give me special coverage on quilts that I would like to show at fairs. They said in the event of fire or theft from my home, they will only cover the cost of the material in the quilt. There has to be a way to insure a quilt properly.

The quilt block that almost did me in! by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
My Women's Shelter HUG quilt block has curved Flying Geese in a plaid
fabric, side triangles that shade from deep gold to almost white and
appliqued free-floating triangles. Quite the challenging block for me!
Now, it's done and you can see it in my Webshots...

What kind of quilt-related things are you asking for or hoping that you
get this holiday season? There isn't much that I need and I've got about
as much fabric as I have room for, but I have asked for a bunch of the
