Quilts for the California fire victims by
Donna in Idaho \(remove invalid\)
I don't usually post something like this to this ng, but . . .
A Project Linus coordinator in the Los Angeles area has just asked for
quilts (and afghans) that will be donated to the evacuation centers. She is
completely out of blankets and could really use some for the many families
effected. ...

Poly/Cotton Blends for Quilts by
Frosty772
Im a newbie and was wondering if these fabrics make good quilts. I have alot
of remnants in some very pretty colors in this fabric type that would make a
nice lap quilt or wall hanging. I would imagine they would hold up as well as
100% cotton ones but wanted to get opinions.

A question about rotary cutters. by
AlenasMom
I'm typing one handed, so please excuse any spelling mistakes.
Do you find a rotary cutter useful? (Is this a dumb question?)
Where did you find yours, and roughly how much are they?

OT?? Musings on Newbie Postings by
Tia Mary-remove nekoluvr to reply
Hi Guys,
After being called the nastiest mouthed person here by the "lighthouse
lover" person, it made me think a bit about initial posts by newbies --
especially those asking for stuff. I lurked and read RCTQ for months and
months and never really posted until I needed to ask for blocks for the...

Another happy dance for me by
Sindir
I just completed my very first block that wasn't simply a square of fabric
sewn to the next square. It's a heart. Many thanks to NZL* for helping me
decide to do a 12" block and alternate it with a solid block to make the
quilt go quicker (I'm wanting to have it completed by this Christmas). ...

any ideas about bearding poly? by
susan kraterfield
Now, don't try to convert me; I don't *like* cotton batting.
Sometimes my quilts do great, and sometimes they beard like crazy. I
wish I could figure out when and why. Is it some brands of batt? Is
it the weave of the quilt fabric? Is it the way the quilt is used?
Mostly I buy Hobbs poly...
