OT Humour - Written & Spoken English by
CATS
If you can pronounce correctly every word in this poem, you
will be speaking English better than 90% of the native
English speakers in the world. After trying the verses, a
Frenchman said he'd prefer six months of hard labour to
reading six lines aloud. Try them yourself.

"improved Faultless" treadle sewing machine by
grammy1
I have an old machine that I really bought for the cabinet. It is a
beautiful, pristine, solid oak with fancy solid brass handles and lots of
carved wood.
It has an "Improved Faultless" machine inside that is also in great
condition and still works.
Does anyone know where I can get information...

Rice bags for gifts by
hfw
a quick pic of what I've been up to (in addition to piecing 42 simple blocks
that I may put together this weekend) "Santa's Workshop--Ricebag Division"
and "Rice Bags closeup"
These measure about 38" x 4" and the covers are removable. I put buttonholes
in the covers and the rice bag itself and...

Easy sewing projects for 6-8 year olds? by
Johanna Gibson
Hello,
Several children in my group have watched me making patchwork
things, and are quite keen to try it! I want to give them some
projects that will not be frustrating, and will be quite easy to
complete. Any ideas? I gave them some scraps to use as bookmarks...
but I'm after some patterns...

Gordian Knot by
Anne in CA
A while ago someone mentioned seeing a Gordian Knot quilt or book. I
took a class today at my LQS and the class was based on Mary Whitehead's
book. My top, so far, is available for viewing at

I plan to make a pieced border of...

Question for all new Mommies by
Debbi
Does mom live in a two story house? One of the monitors comes in really
handy. Unfortunately, Matthew was unable to cry until he was 10 months old
and had his throat reconstructed. I could use the monitor if he was upstairs
(I actually had a cradle downstairs too for him) so I could hear...

Putting a number at the back of a polyester hockey jersey by

What should I use? Paint? If so, what kind? Thanks for your help!
I'd draw the letters on a contrasting fabric, and applique them using a
satin stitch. You can hold the letters down for stitching with
Bondaweb, or spray baste.

supposing you had a bigger budget... by
Anne Rogers[_3_]
So, definitely getting a new sewing machine soon, looks like I had
sufficient to get something like a Janome 6600, BabyLock Quest, or
Viking Sapphire (not the top one with the thread snipper), along with
needed accessories.
We had an unexpected windfall and though I'm not planning to add it to...

HELP!! Does anyone own a Janome MC 6600p by
[email protected]
I inherited this beautiful machine when my Mum died 2 years ago and everything was going fine until something happened and I cannot get the presser foot to go to it's lowest extent.
There is a gap of around 2-3mm when the foot lever is in it's lowest position which means that it is not possible to...

What are your current quilting projects? by
Pat in Virginia
With school starting, vacations over, relatives gone
back home (hopefully!) ... it is time to rev up the
needles! What about your current project/s?
Right now I am working on the Pink Hug Quilt for my
friend. This is a support for when she has the
mastectomy. Some generous quilters from RCTQ...

Need thread opinions by
[email protected]
You want a shiny metallic thread for for hand embellishment, what would you choose?
I am dithering between Mettler and Floriani at the moment, solely based on online photos. Maybe leaning slightly towards the Mettler only because what I've read tends to talk about the Floriani in conjunction with...

Finding Snowy Bleach by
Elaine-VA
There's nothing I've found that's better than Snowy Bleach for
brightening up vintage textiles. Except that now I can't find Snowy
Bleach anywhere locally (Reston in Northern Virginia). Nor have I
been able to find it on the Internet. Can anyone help?

OT medicine costs killing me by

I am so reluctant to ask this since I know you are getting blasted with spam
from drug dealers - but - our prescription bills are just overwhelming. Have
any of you dared to order your medicines from Canada? We almost needed to go
get a tire tool to unlock my jaws when I wrote a check for the...

soften heat n bond? by

I made a horrible error. I thought I was ordering (online) a fusible interfacing, and got Heat n Bond. I tried using it as the filter layer for masks, and they come out so stiff they look horrible! Does anyone know a way to soften this stuff so it doesn't feel like the patches our parents used to...
