OT Frustration! by
NightMist
Sometimes even the simplest thngs turn into a trial of patience.
I am frustrated, and posting rather than calling up and yelling at
somebody's voice mail.
Ash needs a haircut.
We have always perched him on the washer, flung a towel around him and
given him what amounts to a bowl cut. This is a...

OT, prayers please by
IMS[_5_]
Hi All,
Well I never imagined myself to be in this situation, but here I am
desperately in need of some prayers and good thoughts. My breast
biopsy came back positive, needless to say I'm a bit in shock and
scared trying to process all of this. I have tests scheduled for
Thursday and meet with...

Some good news! by
KJ
We have closed the sale of the house that we bought a few years ago for our
kids to live in while attending college! I didn't even get the sign out of
the back seat of my car before I had someone who wanted to look at it. And
they bought it! Woo hoo!!! That certainly saved me a lot of...

continuous bias binding-warning! by
Lobo
So I finally decided I would try the continuous bias tube method for cutting
binding. What a waste of time! Just a warning I wish someone had given me.
I'm sure I can cut strips and sew them together in far, far less time than
this method takes even if it weren't the first time I'd done...

Scrappy block pattern by
maryd[_5_]
Before Jessemay disappeared, she had a scrappy block yahoo group. Someone
there had posted a suggested block for the swap. I left the group but
thought I had the pattern saved. Now I can't find it. Anyone know what I'm
talking about and have the pattern?

un-attaching a quilt by
Karen, Queen of Squishies[_2_]
I have decided to make a confession, right out here in the open.
Sometimes I dilly dally around getting the final touches finished on a
quilt. Because. I'm just not ready to part with it yet. I want the
person to have it, yes. I made it for them. But I have a bad tendency
of getting...

Sewing Rooms by
Cindy Schmidt
If you were given the chance to have a sewing room all to yourself ~ would
you pick an extra "bedroom" that is HUGE or would you go straight for the
unfinished basement????
I have that decision to make here shortly and I'm torn as to what I want to
do. The extra "bedroom " is carpeted which I...

Why can't I finish anything? by
Sunny[_2_]
I am in this weird funk and I can't finish anything. It feels awful.
I've got three projects sitting, ready to be bound (they're little
things, nothing to be excited about) and I can't finish them.
I did make quickie curtains for my bedroom yesterday. Really easy --
just turned hems all around and...

Thanksgiving Day - some advice please by
DiMa
Hi to all the USA posters,
Firstly, I know that this event is held in November in the USA and my
daughter has advised my DH and I that we are going to be invited to a
Thanksgiving Day "something" in November here in Aus. by her partner's
parents.
What I would like to know, as it is our first...

Trip to the Amish Country by
Pauline
I belong to a couple of small groups & I was talking to one of the groups
today & asked if anyone would be interesting in a trip to the Amish Country
& they are. Since I generally do the planning for group activities, I'm
going to start investigating, but, knowing that all the answers I could...

I think I pieced this in 2004, quilted in 2007, and finally bound in 2009.

start with this one and scroll on. The pictures aren't great, but you can
get the idea of what I did with my paper template and chalk. I'll soon have
to take this out of my unfinished quilts folder! The binding is sewn...

Focus on Color: Yellow by
Dannielle
I have six drawers that I sort my fabric stash into, each drawer is
one color of the rainbow - I start at the top with red and pink, then
orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. (Don't ask where the multi-
colors and neutrals are - 'cause they are mostly homeless!)
As I was packing my fabric, I...

Hi All,
I am a lurker who enjoys your posts and seeing the general good will and
friendships that lives here.
The only quilting I have ever done is Irish Chain baby quilt by machine 20
years ago. I do have a desire to do a quilt for my bed but I am not betting
that it will ever happen.

2007-08 RCTQ BOM top put together! by
Carole-Retired and Loving It
My daughter, Gray Soufflé (the QI,) and I worked together and decided
on this layout for my 2007-2008 BOM quilt. One of the extra appliquéd
blocks, for which I inadvertently printed the pattern for the flowers
too small, will become the label for the...

My younger Sis and family need your prayers. Their house burned Thursday.
They have nothing left..even the few pics that survived are water damaged.
Fortunately, DH was home and got the 2 dogs out.

Favorite color schemes by
juliasb
Yesterday while I was straightening things up and putting many of my
quilts away I made what was to me a very interesting discovery. All
the quilts that I have kept for myself over the years are for lack of
a better way of saying things, are very plain and neutral in colors.
I LOVE rich colors...

Hello, I'm new here... by
Ursula Schrader
What can I say? Some of you may know me from alt.sewing, but I just got
addicted to patchwork and quilting. Kate XXXXXX (Hi Kate!wave
hello) recommended this group before, so now that I'm an official junkie I
thought I might join you.
What have I done so far? Currently I'm working on my first...
