ot - Senior concern by
jennellh
Enjoy, jennellh.
After his exam, the doctor said to the elderly man: 'You appear to be
in
good health. Do you have any medical concerns you would like to ask me
about?' 'In fact, I do.' said the old man. 'After I have sex, I am
usually
cold and chilly; and then, after I have sex with her the...

What's the UK Quilt Buzz? by
Josie
I have been back in the UK for a year now, having lived in the US for
about 6 years, and I am really getting back into my quilting. Have a
lot of projects on the go at the moment - which is exactly how I like
it.
Just wondering what is going on in the UK Quilt world right now,
especially in...

2nd Shaker Quilt is finished by
John
Here is the second of 2 reproduction 1850's Shaker Quilts. This one is
made as a gift for my Sister-in law. The color, a butterscotch, is
made to compliment a new living room chair set that she just
purchased. Size: 72" x 72' is the same as the first one. I am now off
to the basement to make a...

Hurricane Gustav by

Thoughts and prayers to all of you in Louisiana and Mississippi.
Polly, FOX News has given Mississippi a lot of coverage. They said
Mississippi was ignored last time, and they knew that area had also
suffered major damage.

Free fabric - ??? kind by
Boca Jan
I have 2 pieces of black fabric that a friend gave me because I sew. LOL
Anyway, it is not cotton so I can't use it. I believe it is some kind of
slippery poly or organza. I washed it and the edges did fray. The pieces are
almost 2 yards each and 45" wide.
If you sew stuff other then quilts...

OT Locking up the stash by
Pat in Virginia
The subject line is merely my feeble attempt to keep this post on topic!
Today we shopped for new door locks. We learned something. Deadlocks are
graded, 1 to 3, for the security offered. Just thought you'd like to know
this, when you need to repel stash raiders.
Back to your regularly scheduled...

Children's Sewing Class!! by
Kate G.[_2_]
I taught Day 1 of a 3 day class for 4 8-10 year old girls. We're making
pillowcases (2 of them).
Each day is only 2 1/2 hours (would rather not tempt the attention span...
it is summer and they are 8-10!)
Today we picked fabric, pressed the accent and cuffs and pinned the accent
to the cuff. ...

First Carol Doak Book by
maryd[_3_]
What was your first Carol Daok PP book and why did you select that one?
Mine was 50 Fabulous PP Stars. It was given to me by a quilter that decided
PPing wasn't for her. That was just before this group was formed. Now
PPing is my favorite form of piecing.

Getting ready to go (on topic cuz the trip is about quilting) by
Sunny[_2_]
I'm trying hard to be calm, but it's not working. I leave mid-day
Monday for Ephrata and the design class taught by Rosalie Dace.

The list of things to bring is daunting. I may need a trailer to fit
it all in. And the thought of concentrating (ok, the...

next anyone collecting - frogs? by
Morag in Scotland
Another fabric from my stash that I thought would be great but that I've
gone off since buying. It's just over a metre. and is an Erlanger brand. It
is mainly green and features a design of tropical looking froggies in blues,
reds, purples, greens - it's quite a bright one!!
Anyone?

I'm Back and Antique Silk Quilt-long by
steve
Hello all
As you've probably guessed from my replies to posts, we got back about two
weeks ago. Been very busy the last two weeks trying to get a whole summers
worth of outdoor work done in two weeks between all the rain. I guess that
I am lucky that I missed it all, but July had record rains...

Rotary blade sharpeners? by
Michelle C[_3_]
I'm wondering...how well do rotary blade sharpeners really work? I'm
thinking of buying one, but don't want to purchase something that doesn't
work well. I've got knife that were a waste of money.
Thanks for your help!
