Propping machine at an angle by
Tricia
Do you prop your portable machine (portable = not in the table
permanently)? If so, what do you use?
I've had to put my machine on an old-ish desk in the living room these
days. I'm doing a lot of piecing (joined the your pick swap) lately
and have realized that I need to lift/angle the part of...

How to make a troll quilt. You may need to park your coffee... by
Kate Dicey
Trolls are very common at present, and therefore cheap. In fact, with
very little patience, you can have one for free! Arm yourself with the
washing tongs from Grandma's old copper laundry boiler, and just hang
about on a sewing newsgroup for five minutes, and when one strolls by,
nab it! ...

"Sew Spoiled" wall hanging by
Carole-Retired and Loving It
Several weeks ago I posted a link to a picture of the Sew Spoiled (cat
wrapped around sewing machine) wall hanging I was working on, asking
for quilting suggestions from the RCTQ group. I used several of the
suggestions, finished the project, and now it's hanging in my sewing
room! Thanks for all...

Guild Auxillary? by
Mauvice in central WI
Several years ago a group from my regular guild formed a small sewing
group that does only charity work. We are gaining some notoriety in
the community, and the president of the original large guild would
like us to come under their umbrella. The reason we formed this group
was to GET THINGS...

his heart is BAD, real bad. it is stopping every 2-5 seconds for just as

BOMs by

Finished August and September blocks. Not sure I can do many more in the
light colors. I'm almost out of selected fabrics and can't find more or the
focus print.

Y Seams....Help, Please! by
Gothikka
Having never attempted Y seams before, I have run into a problem with a
particular quilt block and have pretty much ruined the look of the
entire thing. Everything looks wonderful until you look at the center,
which has a gaping hole where I attempted to sew a Y seam and failed
miserably. I wound...

Off to see the wizard -- er, DT! ;) (partially OT) by
Sandy Foster
I'll be leaving *very* early in the morning for my visit with DT in
China. :) I'm waiting for my laundry to finish drying right now so I can
pack. Be good while I'm gone, please -- feel free to visit DH and Dexter
in order to leave me squishies. ;) You can even indulge your "clean
freak" side...

Directory form closes in 6 days! by
AliceW
As of today, 258 entries! That does include the duplicates, triplicates,
quads and one sextuplet, but still got a good turnout so far. But you have
6 days left. Once the form closes, it's closed. No ifs, ands or buts about
it! Or to use my 2 year old DGS's favorite new phrase - "Noooooo...

wrapping mummies or dressing ghosts by
Polly Esther
Please tell me again. I promise to write it down and keep it in my 'must
be remembered' book. Last year, I wanted some fine white cotton fabric for
a special red hearts on white crib quilt. Some of you recommended Kona
white fabric. It was just wonderful and the quilt is still gorgeous all...

Large quilt frame... OK I give in! by
Sartorresartus
I have a king sized, 3 rail quilt frame. I love the look of it, I love
the smell of it and it wraps fabric beautifully. I have finally moved
it upstairs into my sewing room, fitted it all together again and
basted Blue Quilt to it (again). I did this all before, lost the plot
and have mostly...

Cordless Irons by
Betty in Wi
I don't think I've seen a discussion of this here...correct me if I'm wrong.
But, what are your opinions of the cordless irons? All my quilting friends
have them and really like them. I've tried theirs and am not sold! I don't
think they steam enough, they don't hold enough water, and for those...

qult shashings by

I just posted pictures of two of the quilt tops I am working on I sashing
each one a bit different. The next one will be done a bit different than
these two.
My best laid plans to get started on it today have not yet happened. I
still have a bit of hope to get it started yet today. But in...

Needle problems by
Bonnie NJ
I've been having problems with my stitches on my Singer 15-91. I know the
problem lies with the needle, which I have changed twice. The stitches keep
skipping. It will sew well and then all of a sudden the threads don't
catch - then it continues as if nothing was wrong. I hope I'm explaining...

Threads - Again by
Patti S
I have to admit.... I'm seriously addicted to threads and love, love,
love experimenting with them. I always read every single post on the
subject - to see what's "out there" I may have missed. My favorite
projects are machine applique, and threads can make or break the piece.
While I adore the...
