Dreamweaver
Well, the blocks are coming in and both Shirley and her daughter Linda are
thrilled! Linda can't wait to come see her mom now to see what arrived in
the mail! You all are great. It has truly cheered both of them.
Please keep the blocks coming. I saw a few and they are gorgeous!

Printing my own fabrics. by
Wendys
I saw a program on the telly the other week and the quilt lady used her own
fabrics to make her Kaelidascope quilts.
I thought I could do this as I love to dabble in Graphics.
I made my own "Fractal images" and imported them into Photoshop and then
used a small free plugin to Kaelidascope the...

Easy sewing projects for 6-8 year olds? by
Johanna Gibson
Hello,
Several children in my group have watched me making patchwork
things, and are quite keen to try it! I want to give them some
projects that will not be frustrating, and will be quite easy to
complete. Any ideas? I gave them some scraps to use as bookmarks...
but I'm after some patterns...

OT Need help with a graduation gift by
Kathy Applebaum
Help! Help!
It just dawned on me that I have about three days to come up with a fabulous
graduation gift for someone who is like a niece to me. She's graduating from
college, and I'd like to get her something small but nice to show that I'm
proud of her.
My mind is a total blank (not unusual!)...

Help! by
[email protected]
I just finished a quilt for my father for Father's Day, and used Sulky
thread for the top quilting. Well, I just ran it through the wash (cold
water, delicate cycle, Dreft detergent) and the thread is running all
over the place! The longer I leave it wet, the more it bleeds. I don't
know what to do...

I did it! by
Roberta
I managed to drag myself to the guild meeting tonight! I sure am glad
I did. They were all so friendly and welcoming I hardly had a chance
to get nervous about not belonging there.
The food was good :)
I won some fat quarters in a quilty game (trivia and stuff)!! How
cool is that!

charm quilt questions by
Helen in MN
Well, I bought the papers in 2000, so technically it could be millennium
quilt - okay, so that didn't fly.
Anyway, I have been making my 2" paper diamonds, working towards a tumbling
block quilt. I have enough made that I can start playing with them. So some
questions are popping up for you...

needle threaders by
Betsy Ross
Next thing is you stop using dark fabric
and threads. My new prescription should
be ready in a week, we'll see then.
Hey, if I didn't know where the hole on
my sewing machine needle is from memory
it would never get threaded.! LOL.
I keep a few of those cheap threaders
around and a very...

Son's second day after surgery by
Susan Laity Price
My son, Tom, looked much more alert when I arrived at the hospital
this morning. It is still hard for him to talk because he has a tube
in his nose. He hoped to have it removed today but the doctor said it
should stay until tomorrow. The doctor allowed a few ice chips which
Tom really appreciated....

ideas needed! Everybody's 2 cents welcome! by
Kate G.
I have volunteered to be on our quilt guild program committee. It is a
fairly young guild and hasn't done a whole lot in the past. Meetings are
generally announcements, a show and tell and occassionally a speaker -- but
usually a very INFORMAL gig! Mostly what happens is people sit at...

Quilty Day by
Tina
How I spent my afternoon?
Mama J and Papa K are moving into a retirement community at the end of
this summer. Mama J is an avid quilter, who has only slowed down since
her breast cancer diagnosis last year. BUT, she has to reduce her
stash and quilt stuff. She has been begging me to come out...

want a walking foot? by
quilter
A few years ago, I bought a Nifty Notions walking foot at the Keepsake
Quilting sale. It's a "high shank" model, and I've realized now that I
need a low shank model. I think these are $29.95 retail and I paid
$4.99...the package is marked "as is," but so are all of the items at
the sale, and it...

applique BOMs for Terbear by

At least I think it's Terbear who's keeping the BOM gallery. (I'm
hopeless with remembering names.)
Anyways, I've only got one more block to go to get caught up with the
applique BOMs, and I noticed that my pieced BOMs are on the gallery but
not my applique.

Cleaning SM by

Does anyone know of a website that walks you through the process of cleaning
your sewing machine?
I took a class a couple of years ago---but I don't have any notes. MIL gave
me a terrific little Janome that has now seen enough hours use to need a
good cleaning---but I don't want to bugger up...

Didn't notice I was gone, did ya? Well, I was in the Outer Banks of North

spotty at best, so I wasn't on long even when I did connect. I did hold
happy, healing and comforting thoughts for all of you that had/will...
