? wall hanging by yvette
A friend asked mo to quilt a wall hanging as going-away gift for her co-worker. She wants sometime along the theme of "dogs playing poker". I saw a panel 36x44, but I think that may be a bit too garrish for someone to hang on an office wall. I've never done a wall hanging and need ideas.

Squishie fabric content by Erin
Hej! I've received squishies from members of this group over the years and sent a few as well. However, I feel shy about sending fabric unless I am 100% positive that it is 100% cotton. I have some cute fat quarters that I think may be only about 80% cotton. The fabrics definitely have a high...

To Wash or Not To Wash? by Sherry
Bear with me, please, this isn't your usual wash-or-not question. First, I always wash fabric first. But I participated in a "Block of the Month" at LQS in which the lady pre-cut the fabric into very small blocks for piece cutting. Too small to wash, I thought. So I put the thing together...

Snap Fasteners by al8dan
I am making several quilted denim covers to go over old comforters for the local dogs home. The ends are open to allow for replacement of the comforter and for washing. Where can I get snaps that don't get sewed on but heavy duty ones that go through and anchor "in" the fabric? I need them to be...

not OT, business will most likely be a reality by the end of the year!!! by off kilter [email protected]
OK, y'all know a bit about the lawsuit we are in regarding the house. Well, as most things like this do, it is taking far more in legal fees than we had anticipated, though DH says he knew it would cost a lot, even if we don't recoup any of it. With regards to the financial issues developing...

Small part for Singer? machine by Sally Swindells
At the Spring Fayre I helped at today I bought a packet of odd sewing bits - Stitch Ripper, needle threaders, stencil for hexagonals etc. Included was a Singer lightbulb (dead) and a small 1.3/4" bar which looks like a thread holder from a sewing machine. One end is drilled out and threaded to...

Septic Event by Sunny
Three nights ago we had a "Septic Event". Enough said. The results are that the floor of one downstairs bathroom and my sewing room are ruined. Carpet will have to be ripped out and burned. Yes, I lost a bit of fabric. Baskets on the floor and a couple of undisciplined stacks on the floor were...
