Soy batting??? by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
This is a new one on me- I haven't quite got used to the idea of bamboo
batting and here comes soy batting. But it was talked about on another
quilting group and here's the quote-
I know someone who used it and loved it - until they had to wash the
piece it was in. It lumped and bumped and...

OT Finished with chemo - YAY (and long) by
Rita L in MA
My latest news update:
See subject! That is really the only definitive news to report this
week. Of course it is very good news for me :-) The decision about
next steps is still up in the air. There are a couple of options being
discussed. Until last Friday, my local oncologist had not really...

Newbie ?s EQ6 color palettes by
[email protected]
I'm fairly new at designing quilts with EQ6 (spouse does the sewing).
First, I prefer using the color palette to the fabric palette, as I
can see the colors better (sometimes the fabric patterns get in the
way - that's just how my brain works...) and we never know what we'll
find when we go to...

I did it again... and keep your fingers crossed. by
Kate in MI
Saturday morning -- sat down on the foot of the bed to pull on my socks (I
was at a hotel) -- and the dang comforter started so slide -- as did I. My
back "snapped" -- a feeling I recognize... and now I can barely move.
I was foolish and went ahead and went to the Final Four game (hey -- it was...

When It Rains, It Pours! by
Tia Mary
Hi Guys,
Well, I didn't have anything quilty lined up for this spring and it
was nice not to have to worry about getting something put together and
ready for a specific occasion, etc. That all ended today -- BIG time --
LOL.
I found out last week that DH of one of the ladies in my...

Color Wash quilt .... how hard? by
Sunny[_2_]
I want to make a color wash to use as a background for something else.
I figure I'll get a book, but first I wanted to talk to the experts.
Is this a really hard quilt to make? I've read everything from 'it's
the easiest in the world' to 'you have to take a class to get it'.
Anybody have a favorite...

Civil War Era Quilts. by
John
I used to do a lot of Civil War Reenacting, about 15 to 20 years ago.
At the time I was not into quilts, but I did make both my wife's and
my own costumes. Since I have become involved in quilting, I have
thought about the Civil War era of Quilting and what patterns and
fabrics, would have been...

new QI by
Mary
There is a new QI at my house! Adele (named for Fred Astaire's
sister) is an elegant tuxedo cat, estimated by the vet to be between 1
and 2 years old. She showed up at my sister's house last fall and
simply would not go away, and when it got cold they let her in the
house and began feeding her,...

Thanks to everyone for the good prayers! Son was released from hospital

runt his pancreas so he is now dependent on insulin forever, BUT thankfully,
he is not dependent on a oxygen tank also. He was told that if he had...

Found! by
Taria
I have been carrying around a piece of vintage embroidery for over a
year trying to match it for a wallhanging. Today after guild I stopped
in the LQS and one of the gals I know helped me pull together some
fabric that I think will work really well. I can actually get
the project going. ...
