Need help figuring out borders, please by
Ed from AZ
For some reason, I can't get my brain wrapped aound this. It should
be simple - and so am I should it should be a match, right?
My wife finally got her quilt top finished, or the main part anyway.
It's a Rail Fence design. She wants to put a border around it with
squares of different material. ...

happy day! by
Mystified One[_2_]
I started my morning VERY EARLY today. Our local Masonic lodge is in dire
need of a new roof; which will cost about $200,000. I kid you not. Someone
built this building with a flat roof in a very rainy area. It was a poor
choice and the roof leaks in many places. We've replaced as many...

Further observations of france and quilting by
jeanga6
This last weekend DH and I went to Lille France for the weekend. Why
Lilli? We it was on special for the train and for cheap we could jump
on a high speed train (TGV) and 2.5 hours later be in a totally
different part of the country. While there we found the "largest" book
store in Europe. Don't...

$5K ironing board by
NightMist
As I was browsing the web seeking information on sewing machines and
their motive parts, I ran across this:
https://atlaslevy.3dcartstores.com/Reliable-426HAB_p_3-503.html
I just had to look and see what a five thousand dollar ironing board
did. I am more accustomed to passive ironing boards,...

Any Outlook Express experts out there? by
Kate G.[_2_]
I read my RCTQ through Outlook Express (6). The are set to view by group --
so follow-up posts stay with the initial post which are listed by date/time.
(although it doesn't seem to make a difference to my problem if I change it
to chronological listing of posts.)
The problem is that not all...

I think it's a good thing..... by
Sunny[_2_]
I just got notice that my wall hanging was chosen for the "Voice that
is Mighty Within Me" road show. I have no idea what venues it will
show in or for how long, or anything else. All I know is that once it
leaves my hands next week it won't be home for two years. It has a
price tag and I sorely...

Old New Home SM by
Kate T.
My neighbor is 71 and wants to sell her great aunt's treadle SM. We
can find little on the net about this brand.
As the story goes, her great aunt wanted a new treadle so her husband
ordered it from New Orleans. It had to be brought up river by boat,
then off loaded onto a freight wagon and...

Celtic patterns by
Estelle Gallagher
I have pieced and quilted a Blooming Nine Patch ( pictured in my Album) Its
the purple coloured one. I made the mistake of quilting all around the
centre pale part as I did nt have the right thread colour. Now it is too
puffy to quilt and puckers, so I have decided to applique a new centre and...

Quilts of Valor in News by

Yesterday there was an feature in the Daily Press about Quilts of Valor,
with emphasis on the part my local guild has taken in this activity. I can't
seem to copy and paste the link, but you can go to:
dailypress.com
then put the word quilts in the search box.

Ft. Myers by
Mika
DH and I are making a quick overnight trip to Ft. Myers, FL on Monday. I was
wondering if there are any quilt/fabric stores that are a "must see" in Ft.
Myers just in case I can talk him into a bit of S.E.X. I've been googling
but haven't come up with much yet. If I can talk him into letting me...

OT-Math Puzzle by

Here's an interesting math "puzzle" - just in case you're bored - or want to
take a break from quilting (or, in my case, shovelling snow!)
Personally I would like to know who came up with this..., Grab a
calculator (you won't be able to do this one in your head)! [This will work
for US...

HUG Quilt Finished by
Louise in Iowa
The wife of one of my co-workers suffers from a debilitating disease and has
been in a wheel chair for quite some time. Until about a year ago, she was
able to drive and pretty much get around on her own, but she then was
diagnosed as having melanoma for the second time. It's been a difficult...

Ever heard of a Jewel SM? by
Sunny[_2_]
Well, I just bought one at a thrift shop for $20. It's a "portable"
with a cute little carrying case, even though it weighs a ton. Solid
metal, motor on the back, beautiful -- gleaming silver and deep aqua
blue. It purrs like a kitten and sews beautifully. Only problem is, I
can't make it sew...

Larisa called me last night after the craft show, for the first time in

going to make it now. So on her behalf, thank you for all your prayer and
support during this trying time. I know her posts get a little long and...

What Inkjet Printer do you like for photo transfers? by
L
I am looking to purchase a new inkjet printer. I would love to have one that
can also produce nice photo transfers for quilting. I've googled a bit and
found lots of conflicting advice about ink types, paper feeding, archival
properties, etc.
So, I thought I would ask.... for those of you who...
