Need Advice by Ben Denney
So, my mom has been a dollmaker for like 20 years. Since I was a wee laddie. My brother and I helped her get a website online with her patterns and instructional dvd. She even sales a few dolls. The reason I am posting this is because she is fully disabled and has now lost most of her vision...

STITCHING SOFTWARE by Benzma925
Has anyone ever used software that converts pictures into cross stitch patterns? If so, which is best and how did it turn out? I was particularly interested in PM Stitch Creator 2.0. Thanks!

Glass or no glass for framed work? by Bergen
I'm almost done stitching a portrait (140x120x90 colors) and was curious what the opinion was on putting it under glass? I remember reading somewhere not to because it flattens out the stitches? The person receiving this has smokers in the house and I would like to protect it from yellowing.

Just Cross Stitch again by Bernadette Houghton
I'm having trouble with my Just Cross Stitch subscription. When my first issue (Feb. 2004) didn't arrive, they were happily posted me another copy. Now I'm still waiting for the April issue, and even though I've emailed them twice they haven't bothered to respond. Is this par for the course with...

Christmas stocking - can you help identify? by bernieh
The mum of a friend of mine has a half-completed Christmas stocking, which she now hopes to finish. Unfortunately, the pattern has disappeared. Can anybody identify it for her? http://www.flickr.com/photos/25119967@N07/sets/72157604292660761 It is most likely from an American mag. TIA for any...

I hate metallic thread by Bertha
I've been working on a little Celtic knot in gold and black--the gold is a lovely metallic thread, but it's a major PITA to work with. Slips out of the needled, gets snagged on itself, unravels after a short while. I'm also doing one of those little pick-up-and-go kits you get from Michael's...

AFARR is safe and sound by Beth Katz
Kathy still has the AFARR and will forward it to Di when she has completed her letter. Real life has a way of getting in the way of stitching projects. Some of us stitch quickly, some slowly. The AFARR is not lost. -- Beth Katz AFARR page:...

AFARR update - May 2004 by Beth Katz
The AFARR is now with Lollee (Linda) Roberts in Texas. She is working on the T. She'll hand it off personally to Jamie (also in Texas) for the U, but it may go to Anne of the Y before that because she is now also in Texas. So Joan, you may have to wait a bit. If you don't know what I'm talking...

The AFARR is in transit to Minnesota. I've updated the web site to show the letters that have been stitched. There's an automated slideshow that goes through the individual letters (you don't have to click to get the next one; just be patient) or you can click on them individually. Beth...
