Road to Calif. by Idahoqltr
I went to this show in Ontario, CA on Thurs. for the first time. It was very busy - I can't imagine what the weekend days will be like! There were fewer quilts than I expected but they were WONDERFUL. I took about a dozen pics but haven't yet developed them. There were more vendors than anywhere...

another UFO pic by Denise Jameson
Hi gang, I've uploaded another UFO finished top into my album. This is a Cobblestone quilt from a class our guild did a couple of months ago. I'm so used to doing Queen sized quilts this one looked puny to me until I got the borders on. It's a nice lap size quilt now and I feel much better about...

1 Attachment(s) Help, What is this fabric? by Mickie Swall
Our guild is having Sara Nephew next month for a lecture and a 2-day class on her Serendipity Quilts. http://www.clearviewtriangle.com/books/serendipity.html The pieces of these quilts are fussy cut similar to stack-and-whack, only different. I think. I bought this fabric http://tinyurl.com/d97zo...

Batting question by Nancy
I am interested in finding out what people think of Hobbs 80-20, over other battings. I was thinking of buying a whole bolt, as I tend to go through it quite quickly. I had been buying W &N at Joann's 50% sales, but was wondering what all the fuss was about the blended fibers. I have been...

Pre-Washing Warm & Natural by Kate Dicey
Today's S.E.X was 4 cone holders for the sergers, taking one in for some TLC and a new stitch plate, and 3m of W&N The batting feels and smells lovely, but I want to know if I can pre-wash it in a front-loading washer on a gentle cycle, and then tumble-dry it. If not, I won't, and we'll make...

Hey y'all. I got my kimono panels in the mail yesterday and they are really beautiful. She also sent some bonus pieces as well! :) I can't remember the name of the place, but it was one of the two sites that were listed here last week. The other site sells by the pound, minimum purchase...

OT my son in a fox news video by Lisa Caryl
Some of you may remember that my son Andy is serving in Iraq. He sent this link to a Fox News story, http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,183909,00.html If you scroll down to the "Video" area, and click on the "IED's no match for the Buffalo" story, he is in the first few seconds of the video. He...

colourwash question by Irrational Number
Am I insane for wanting to do a colourwash with 1" squares? (That's 1" finished, 1.5" unfinished.) I want it to be 13x13 and it's going to be a quilted cushion cover on a 17x17 cushion (with a 2" border), hand pieced. -- Anita --

Looking for indigo fabric by Kathy Applebaum
At my quilt retreat, we did an indigo and shirting block exchange. I've sewn up about a hundred more blocks (they're small blocks!), and I'm running out of indigo. We're using reproductions of late 1800's / early 1900's indigos -- these are fabrics that are mostly medium to dark blue (think...

TROLL ALERT - BettyKuhn by Tia Mary
The person posting as BettyKuhn is a troll. DO NOT click on the link in "her" post unless you like graphic, perverted, scatologically sexual stuff. This was posted to RCTN also & there was a bit of a dust-up so I clicked on the link and saw for myself. This is something a young teen would post...

rctq 2005-06 BOM top finished by Anne in CA
I have a not terribly good photo of the top at: http://community.webshots.com/photo/286176973/2047000070030878969kMENMA The top measures 84" x 84" and is hard to shoot from the dining room chair. When DS or DH are available to hold it up, I'll substitute a better shot. This one will have to wait...
