FMQ progress and thank you! by
Michelle C.
I want to thank everybody who has answered my numerous questions about
FMQ. (Just because I'm thanking everybody, don't fool yourselves into
think you've seen the last of my questions though. ;-) )
I've taken your advice--a bigger needle, slowing down, then slowing down
some more, and I'll be...

OT Note from School by
NightMist
I will happily make pie and punch for everybody who wants to make a
field trip to behold the school staff in their native habitat.
Here it is, word for word, comma for comma:
"Dear Parents,
The Erie Zoo Field Trip scheduled for Friday July 31st as been changed
to tommorow, Thursday July 30th due...

Templates ..... by
Sunny[_2_]
I'm trying hard to make my peace with templates, but I have problems
making pieces with templates. No pun intended. Really. I hate using
templates. The tiniest bobble when copying the lines ends up magnified
all over the quilt, in every block.
I've made good copies of the templates on "template...

What's a "Charm Quilt"? by
Dr. Zachary Smith
Would someone please explain to me (in terms you'd use to explain it
to your sweet, cute, but hopelessly quilt-ignorant spouse) what a
charm quilt is? I think I heard the term "charm" used to describe a
particular small piece of fabric (akin to a jelly roll strip?) and it
looks like some of the...

Quilt Show by
Joanna[_2_]
I have uploaded some pics from one of our small town Quilt shows. It is
a small town and I didn't expect to see anything amazing but I was very
impressed. There is only a few pics I didn't not have time to take pics
of all the quits but there were many more there. I'm also unsure about
posting...

Hersey PA Quilt Odessy by
Alice in PA[_3_]
Did anyone go to the Hershey Show? A friend and I spent most of the day
there Friday. Lots of beautiful quilts in the show, and many, many
interesting vendors. I bought one of the new thimbles mentioned in
RCTQ....rubber with a metal tip. It really felt good on and didn't slip
off, so can't...

OT - Thank You by
Donna in Idaho[_2_]
Thank you so much for all the emails and posts of condolence for the loss of
my husband, Wayne.
We had a lovely graveside memorial service including the Honor Guard from
Mountain Home Air Force Base on July 16.
The past two or three weeks have been the worst weeks of my life. My oldest
son...

Quilt Blocks Galore by
Sharon
Have any of you used the patterns from Quilt Blocks Galore? If so, do
you find that the blocks come out at 12" unfinished? I've made a few
and they all seem to come out at that measurement - maybe I'm doing
something wrong, but I thought I was being very careful. It does say
on the site '12"...

October quilt show in central IL by
Musicmaker
I would like to invite any of you midwesterners to come on out to
Charleston IL in Oct. The 9th and 10th to be exact. Rockome Gardens,
a unique and interesting place to visit in the middle of the IL Amish
community, is having a quilt show of mostly local quilters. I've
hosted a weekly quilting...

Ping Jeanne, Worst Quilts by
Polly Esther[_5_]
Just when you have time, would you please use your wonderful search skills
and see if you can find for our newer quilters that incredible Worst Quilts
competition? I guess it was nearly 10 years ago. The incompetence and
problem solving was such a belly laugh. My personal favorite was the one...

Soft scraps vs EQ Printables by
Nancy
Has anyone used the Soft Scraps printable fabric sheets? I was at the Long
Beach Show, and the distributer was there. The quality seemed very nice, as
well as a lovely hand to the finished product. I will be in need of several
packages of printable fabric sheets and was just wondering if...

Good thoughts needed by
Sandy
MIL, almost 89 years old, went into the hospital in Tucson for a partial
knee replacement on Wednesday. She came through the surgery just fine,
but she's been in extreme pain (much more than she'd been told to
expect) and then developed difficulty breathing. On top of that, the
night nursing...

I must be crazy... (new project) by
Listpig
OK, this is going to be the largest raggy quilt I've made to date: I've
started doing a raggy quilt slipcover for my couch.
Once I finish that, if I've not run screaming down the road yet, I'll do one
for the recliner.
Both pieces of furniture are in good shape---only two years old---except
that...

China dishes quilt finished! by
dealer83
My third quilt is finally done! This will be a Christmas present for
a dear friend who loves blue and collects antique blue and white
china. I think she'll love it. It went fairly simple as far as
quilting it goes. I used stippling for the edge and a curvy grid
pattern for the interior of it. ...

'hand made' quilts by
Taria[_2_]
While looking through furniture stores today dd and I happened on a really
pretty embroidered import quilt. I walked over to take a look at it and dd
shoook her head and made this comment:
"made lovingly by chinese dissidents". Kid gets her
sense of humor from her father.

Baby quilt because Polly made me! by

quilt for my nephews baby #2. Now I just have to keep on it. I tend to
view tops as finished.....but you can't gift them that way, can you?
I also...
