Views of Katrina devastation. by Debra
One of the news channels is running areal views and it's terrible. A casino barge on top of a hotel. What once was a neighborhood reduced to piles of splintered wood. Mud and water everywhere. One neighborhood obviously hit by both flooding and a tornado is now just shredded bits in splintered...

Bobbin winders by Boca Jan
I have been drooling over the Side Winder, a bobbin winder separate from your ewing machine. Does anyone have one? Do you like it? Is it worth the money? How much did you pay for it? Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the answers. -- Boca Jan Florida - Land of the...

OT Husband by [email protected]
Some of you will remember that my DH became very ill with an aneurysm and brain hemorrhage in October. He survived 2 surgeries, and was weaned off the ventilator eventually. However, he had suffered 2 strokes and a great deal of brain damage. He had made some steady progress until late December,...

OT - cheering team, prayer team, support team.... by Queen of Squishies
........ good thoughts club...... I'll take it all. As some of you may know, I have recently conquered my fibromyalgia pain with MSM crystals. But here's the deal. I have gotten used to using those pain pills for backache, and migraines. I think there are better ways to deal with it than...

some photos by KJ
I've been carrying on my usual quilter's ADD style. In the last couple days, I have pieced two small wallhangings from kits I bought on sale. I've also been playing with some pineapple blocks that seem to take a looooooong time to make. I have no idea how long I'll be able to stick with this...

Heat and Bond lite by KJ
After being a WonderUnder user for many years, I switched to Heat and Bond lite for fusible appliqué projects. At first I ignored the instructions (after all, I KNEW how to fuse!) and I wasn't happy with the results. So I have tried fusing with their directions and am still not very happy, ...

Singer 185K Freeycycle Machine by Sherry
I think the analysis of the machine I picked up is "RIP." The lady told me it sewed fine, but there was a problem with the tension. After getting it home, the "problem with the tension" is....it is gone. Apparently she dismantled it, and from what I can tell from the diagram I found, there are...

5 year project completed by jennell
Hello again - it has been a while since I posted though I have been reading almost every day and keeping up with all the newsgroup events. Since Easter, I have worked on actually finishing the Navan United Church 75th anniversary quilt. I took most of July off due to weather conditions and health...

Pfaff machines by MNalley
Yesterday I was checking out the Pfaff machines, specifically their sewing machines for quilters. I was very impressed with the model I was looking at. I'm pretty content with my machine, but I am thinking about investing in this machine. Any comments on Pfaff. the model I'm looking at is 2029.

OT snow by Polly Esther[_5_]
I wish somebody would unearth that precious tale about the guy who had just moved into snow country and did a daily journal of how he was weathering. And, in the next couple of weeks I suppose I could entertain the newbies with my truly awful annual Christmas joke if anybody insists, or we can...

Advice on sewing machine-CP by PFJ
Hello All, I've been lurking around here and have appreciated the camaderie and helpfulness of this place. It also doesn't hurt to be in a place where people describe fabric as delicious - I don't feel quite so mad. Now, if you all don't mind, I need your collective help on a good sewing/quilting...
