Shipping from eQuilter ... by

I don't mean to complain by any means, but is having something shipped from
eQuilter a week after ordering it normal?? Do any of ya'll order from them
regularly? If so, is taking that long normal??
I've not ordered from them in over 6 years, so I can't for the life of me
remember if it took that...

Her First Quilt by
Diana Curtis
Today Meg grabbed my scraps off the floor and shoved them under the foot of
the machine, which was unplugged. I showed her how to turn the wheel to sew
the bits together. I think its beautiful!!!
I think I need to start looking for a hand crank machine for her for next
summer. By then she will be...

ME: Dakota Colors? by
Dr. Zachary Smith
I recently purchased a design collection disc from Dakota
Collectibles.
Upon reviewing the design colors, I find that the color names Dakota
specifies (i.e. Dk. Dk. Rust, Blue4, Lt. Green2, etc.) do not
correspond with any of the brands of embroidery threads we currently
have. I checked Dakota's...

A beautiful quilt that matches nothing by
Michelle C.
Usually, I try to make quilts that either somewhat match the decor of
the intended recipient or are composed of the recipient's favorite
colors. However, I've got a black, red, and white top from one of
Terbear's swap,\ that is just stunning (everyone did a wonderful job),
and yet, I can't...

OT Good summer books by
Pat in Virginia
A while back, someone here recommended a book: The Guernsey Literary and
Potato Peel Pie Society. I couldn't put it down; I just finished it and
LOVED it! So, thanks.
I had gotten it from Library to read during and after my upcoming Hospital
Adventure, but I've already finished it. Now I need a...

OT Universal Truths by
Paul & Suzie Beckwith
DH just read these out from his WWII re-enactment forum, so I just had
to share... they are kinda male-based but funny anyways!
Universal Truths
1. Triangular sandwiches taste better than square ones.
2. At the end of every party there is always a girl crying.
3. One of the most awkward things...

I'm finally getting things in my sewing room the way I want them. Thought I'd
share what I've done so far. Hope the link works -- let me know if it doesn't!
I'm still fairly new at this!

ot OT prescriptions by
Polly Esther[_5_]
The facts here have been disguised to protect the innocent (not that I know
anybody all that innocent). An elderly friend of ours is paying $ 800 per
month for her medications. There are no generic substitutes and her
miserable tight-wad prescription insurance company won't pay a dime to help...

Time for another roll call by

Hi, I'm Sandy and live in central Florida. I am mainly a lurker, don't have
lots to say but love reading about everyone else. I'm 60 years old and have
been widowed for the last six years. We had been married for over 30 years.

Cost of Machine Quilting? by
SewVeryCreative
Does anyone know roughly how much it costs to send out a quilt (in this case
one lap size, 58x68 finished) for machine quilting? I'm REALLY pressed for
time this year (aren't we all?! LOL!) and I have a few quilts that will need
to be MQed ...
I figure part of the cost depends on the complexity of...

OT please sign your posts by

Hello! We've been having some lively
conversations here lately. I do enjoy
the various quilt topics, and some of
the off topic as well. For me, every
post would be even better if it was
signed. Quite a few are not signed
lately. When I send a "real" letter, I
put a return address on the...

Big stitch or utility quilting by
frood
I'd like to try some big stitch or utility quilting (I've heard it called
both) for one of my basted, but unfinished projects. I was going to machine
quilt, but have decided that I won't get the look I want, plus, I enjoyed
hand-quilting that wall hanging I did, and want to do some more.
The quilt...

I feel so stupid....... by
Bonnie NJ
I was cleaning up my sewing room and in the process I filled my trash bin.
I took out the bag and threw it into the trashcan. The trash went out on
Friday.
I started looking for my accessory box that went with my "new" 401 and
couldn't find it anywhere and then it dawned on me that I had tossed it...

DH was gone for almost a week, returning home from visiting his mom just
last night. I decided to make that week a sort of marathon piecing
session, and I made the deadline I hadn't thought I'd make. :) I really
wanted the top to my Eureka quilt (started at camp the week before) to
be finished when...

NEWBIE Question by
Mignon
Hello! I am brand, spanking new at quilting, and I would like very much to get some advice. Exactly what kind of thread should I use for my first quilting project. It will be a four-patch with a twist, using cotton thread. While exploring the Internet, I see all kinds of threads - 35 wt., 40-wt.,...
