Apology, I am sorry Abrasha by
Don Norris
I do apologize for my behavior last night, but not the content. I should
have edited out all the foul language, started to, but for my friends
and students that read this news group, I just had to leave them in. I
doubt if there are a lot of children reading this group. They are on the

Appraiser recommendation? (San Francisco/Bay Area) by
CeM
I'm going to be moving back to the San Francisco/Bay Area (yay! I'm going
home for a few) for a little bit. I'm wondering if any of you know of a
good appraiser for some stones I've purchased over the past year. Yea, I've
been slacking. :(
Any/all advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Aquamarine Prices by
[email protected]
I just purchased a ring for my wife to commemorate our 3rd child.
Since we have two March babies, the ring has two 5mm aquamarine
stones. The jewler charged $400 each, saying they are AAA quality.
This seems high...does $400/ea for aquamarine sound right?
Thanks.

Are some gemstones too fragile for every day use? by
George Mauer
Hello,
I am looking for an engagement ring and I've determined that my price-
range ($1500) should be enough to allow me to get a decent mounting
with a nice bling-y semi-precious stone. Probably I would like
something large, shiny and purple or pink.
I've been talking to a lot of jewelers about...

Are there wire-wrap projects on-line? by
Jim Caldwell
I am getting into gold wire-wrap jewelry, was wondering if there are free
instructions anywhere for making wire-wrap jewelry. If not I will have to
buy a book or two from Rio Grande. Also, is there a message forum or
newsgroup specifically for wire-wrappers? Thanks.

Argentium silver vs reg silver (925) by
Bright Shiny Objects Fascinate Me
I use argentium silver for my wire wrapping and 925 silver for casting.
Was perusing the Rio Grande catalog and came across Argentium casting
grains.
My question - has anyone used Argentium silver for casting? Have you
seen a noticeable difference in casting? Is it better or...

Argentum silver and the water torch by
Paul Wilson
Hey,
I wanted to get a water torch such as the HydroFlux but was put off by
reports that it doesn't work so well with sterling silver. Apparently,
sterling has great "heat sinking" abilities and the small pin point flame
produced by the HydroFlux won't heat the metal enough for a good...

Art Clay Silver and Glass by

Some of you already know that my background is in polymer clay. I've
only recently entered the mesmerizing world of glass via a lampworking
setup. That necessitated buying a kiln and well, it's all been
downhill from there. Now I have Art Clay Silver (along with some
pottery clay) and I want to...

Art clay silver piece: solder on a jump ring or refire w/ a bail? by
lavachickie
I have a large flat piece I made. I was just playing around, but it
turned out GREAT so what I want to do is wear it as a pendant. It's
square, and I want to mount a bail through which I will run a chain. I
don't want it on the top/edge, as I want it to hang point up, and I
want the connection...
