Advice needed -- Cutting Narrow Strips by
Joe Cahill
I am having difficulty cutting narrow and long strips of glass. The strips
need to be about 1/4 inch wide -- length isn't too critical, but I'd like to
get it about a foot or so. I'm working on the Odessy variant of Tiffany's
Lotus Lamp and there are more narrow pieces of glass involved than I...

Advice on Strip/Circle Cutters by
Matthew Lybanon
I would like to buy my wife (a stained glass worker) a strip/circle
cutter as a gift. I know that both Inland and Glastar (and other
companies) sell one, and I don't know enough to choose between them. I
would appreciate any recommendations, comments, advice, discussion of
pros and cons, etc.,...

Advice please: melt-in surface treatments? by
David Blood-Deschamps
I am making ornaments that have small glass pieces with exposed edges. I
am going to use a quickfire kiln to fire-polish the edges. I am
interested in also creating interesting surface effects on the face of
the pieces, perhaps things that would bond/melt in the kiln.
Any ideas? Glass bits? Metal...

ADVICE: Large Stained Glass Piece by
Matthew Lybanon
My wife works in stained glass, using the copper foil technique. She
has been asked to make a large rectangular piece to cover a window, and
is not sure it is feasible with that technique (can it be made rigid
enough?). The project is not to make the window itself, but to make a
rectangular...

Christian Piguet
Hello,
I paint with airbrush and enamels . I use water and medium miscible but I am
not quite satisfied. As I heard alcool seemed to work well.
What kind of alcool should I use ? Or another medium ?
Anyone got info ?

Al was ahead of his time by
Notal Kyder
My brother struggled with addiction, of that there is no secret. Even
the most noble and intelligent amoung us has succumbed to the sweet
siren song of drugs. For Samuel Taylor Coleridge, it was opium. For
Rush Limbaugh, it was OxyContin. And for Al, toward the end of his
days, it was sauerkraut...

Aluminum powder? by
Vince
Hi folks,
I'm just getting started with fusing and was able to get a bunch of
equipment and supplies from someone going out of business dirt cheap. They
threw in about 400 lbs. of aluminum powder. Since my only previous
experience with the stuff has been using it to start damp campfires, I'm a...
