PING Jo caramel apples by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
This is a really cool but different take on caramel apples. You may want to try this instead of the ones with the caramel sliding off ;-) for ease of eating plus the originality!

flooding by
KJ
I hope all our RCTQ members are high and dry. The Northeast has certainly
had some bad flooding. Have any of you seen it first hand?

could do anything with it. Her boyfriend bought it for her last Christmas
so she has had it for a little over a year. It is a Brother XL6562. I think
he got it at WalMart. sigh I don't know why he didn't ask me first. ...

I have a pattern for a 9" flower basket block, with four sets of "spikes" up
each side, and a different pattern for a 10" flower basket block with three
sets of "spikes" up each side. What I need is a pattern for a 12" flower
basket block with four sets of "spikes" up each side. Why does every...

Scrap Question by
Not A Clue!!
Why can't I make a scrap quilt with all my bits and pieces without using a
pattern? I have searched the net far and wide and according to all I see and
read I must use a pattern even to make something with scraps of fabrics? I
guess what I want to know is, how would I sew together all odd sizes...

Sewing Machine for Child? by
Nurse Ratched
My lovely little not-quite-10-year-old niece is just about ready for her first
sewing machine. She was here this past weekend and sewed with me. She has
great motor skills and is very intuitive about how things work and connecting
concepts. Her great aunt has offered to foot the bill if I will...

Illinois bound! (ON topic) by
Kathy Applebaum
This time tomorrow, I should be off the plane, into the rental car, and over
the border into Illinois for a week at Machine Quilter's Showcase. Yee haw!
Lots of incriminating photos will be taken, and I've got plenty of cash for
bail.
Just a heads up to all you stash raiders out there. DH will be...

Best Time for Kentucky Visit by

Can someone suggest what the best time would be to visit Kentucky to see the
big quilt exhibit there ... we'll be celebrating our 25th anniversary this
September so are making plans to visit one of our most favourite places.
Also I'd like to know what the best quilt shops around there are,...

Who does Blocks of the Month? by
Lynne Van
Some of you have mentioned these from time to time, and I've
seen some of the patterns, which look amazing.
Who here does these regularly? What is your opinion on them?
Do you find them expensive?
Just wonderin',

catching up with the group-warning long!!!! by

Therapy and the bereavement classes are helping me a great deal. I
will always miss my beloved Terry (and I miss him deeply) and carry
sadness with me, but I’m starting to think about my future and new
beginnings. My DS, Hunter is a great young man with an old soul like
his dad and I. I have a...

OT - Oatmeal for baths by
frood
Poor little Giles is covered in hives. She is itchy all over. I know oatmeal
baths are soothing, and I can buy some Aveeno bath stuff, but I have oats in
my cupboard right now and was wondering if I could use those? Do I need to
put them in a muslin bag? Would a paper coffee filter work if I staple...

OT slow newsreader.. can anyone help? by
Allison
For the past couple of months my newsreader has been much slower than
normal. It can take up to 10 seconds to load a message now whereas
before it was almost instantaneous. And the few times I've tried to
post to the newsgroup I thought it was going to time out.
I'm presently using the...

OT-venting by
Cindy Schmidt
Well it's my turn to vent. Mine is nothing really, but I have to get it all
off of my chest and maybe, just maybe I might feel better.
So far in the year 2005, I personally think this year stinks.
I'm actually afraid to have my birthday on Sunday. Who knows what might
happen.
I am having no...

The joy of a design board by
Polly Esther
I decided that I just had to have a design board. There was a sheet of used
paneling left over from our remodeling project standing in the garage. We
cleaned it up and brought it in. Didn't know if it would do or not, but I
covered it with some cheap, stretchy baby terry. Had to unearth very...
