Wheel with lugs on it by
Anne Mossman
I'm a relative novice at the wheel and to date have used studio and rented
wheels (without lugs).
I've just acquired my own new wheel and ordered it with lugs on it, thinking
it must be more useful/efficient to sit bats on it this way than to have to
make clay chucks to hold bats on.
Having taken...

Where can I sell a pugmill?? by
Graham Stoneman
Hi,
I'll stress to begin with that I'm not expert in pottery, but my old man has
a pugmill, in full working order. I believe it compacts all the spare left
over bits of clay and makes then usable again (is that right?). It used to
be used by classes of about 20 people so I think it's a fairly...

Where to look to start my own studio? by
Muuurgh
I just graduated school with an MFA in ceramics and I'd like to know where I
can look to learn about opening my own studio. Are there any websites that
may assist me? I want to have a couple electric kilns, a gas kiln and maybe
10 wheels or so. I also have to find the right facility to house...

white stoneware heat and cold retention by
Anthony Stewart
Hello,
I have an odd question. How does white stoneware react to
repeated heating and or cooling? Does it retain heat/cold like stone does?
Thanks for your help.

Why #112? by
Bubbles
Hi again - again! Hehe!
Last question for tonight!
I have been reading through the group, and find that many of you have
problems with clay #112, still several of you still insist on using it. I'm
not being fresh, here, mind you - I am just very curious as to why such a
problematic clay still...

any use and/or is there a way to clean it up somewhat?

will stuff in my kiln room spontaniously combust? by
Red Deer
Hi Everyone,
I fire an electric kiln to cone 6 in my upstairs spare bedroom. The
room is about 12 by 14 feet and the only thing in it is the kiln and
some glazes and a couple of shelves to store bisqued pots and a table.
But in the closet I have stored some clothes in plastic bags. The
closet is...

Williamsburg Pottery Factory by
bonnieb
Does anyone know if I can get clay from Williamsburg Pottery Factory?
We visited there in Summer '03, loved the place, and brought home a 25
lb brick. It didn't last long. Would love to get some more but need
it shipped to Michigan. Any info would be appreciated!

Wine coolers by
Red Deer
Hi Everyone,
I've been invited to sell my pots at a wine festival in June. I make
stoneware pots but I wanted to make some wine cooler pots for this
event and I was wondering if stoneware will work as a wine cooler.
All my glazes are cone 6. If I just bisque them, will that work? I

Wiring off the wheel,tip. by
plodder
Hi all, just joined your group after reading some of your postings.
There was some talk about wiring off pots and I thought I could share a
tip with you by way of introduction:
If, as I do, you slide your pots onto a selection of small wooden
boards it can create a'sticky' problem when you later...
