The latest victory against the spammers by
wayne
Recently, a thread about the spammers had some people
questioning the validity (usefulness) of responding to the spammer's ISP
by typing in "abuse" and sending it back. I did that not three days
ago after the second attempt by those idiots to scam me.
The response I got is printed below.

Them wobbles - wheel throwing by
Bubbles_
Yeah - here I am again! Nag nag nag! LOL!
So - I have been doing some pretty good work on the wheel lately. When I
finally realized that I was using too firm clay, the centering go a lot
easier!
But - even if I have wedged the clay thoroughly just before slapping it on
the wheel, I sometimes...

thin crust of glaze by
Joanna
Hello everyone,
I have small question about glazing and glazes. The problem is as follows:
I've bought recently an excellent glaze (Botz from Germany), it's really
good, it made some thin crust on the surface and the glaze stick really hard
and not peel off during touching and moving to the...

Thinking of selling 27 cu. ft gas kiln (laser) by
Dominic Spencer
I am thinking of getting rid of my 27cu.ft Laser gas kiln, but have not
fully decided yet whether I will. It's in pretty good condition - totally
serviceable, and working well. I am thinking of taking offers around the
£1500 mark (they cost around £7k new, I believe - I may possibly auction it
on...

Those darned bubbles! by
Bubbles_
EWWWW!!
I keep getting bubbles on my finished pieces. I have tried up to 40 minutes
hold time at 1270 degreess, but they still show up! I am getting rather
frustrated by it all. I can "repair" them by adding glaze to the holes (that
are more like inverted craters going all the way down to the...

three legged bowl by
sandi
Hello Everyone,
I would like to make a slab built bowl (draped over a mold) with
texture on the inside and I'd like to put three legs on it. I would
be shaping the legs or feet from a slab wrapped around the short end
of a wooden spout maker so they will be hollow. My question is do you
have to...

Hello,
I have been throwing for about a year, but I still have trouble pulling my
clay up (throwing, right?). Sometimes, I end up with a ring that just comes
off when I get to the top. Other times, usually when I am making tall

Throwing - out of center - why? by
Bubbles_
Hi
Okay - I have started throwing on my wheel again. But I keep getting these
LUMPS of clay that seem like they are weighted on one side, even though I
have spiral wedged them for at least 10-15 minutes before splitting them up
into about half-kilo pieces, making those into balls by slapping...

Throwing left, right and seldom center! by
Bubbles
Hi folks!
I am finally back at my wheel after many months not being able to use it for
one reason or another.
I realize that it will take me a while to get "the feeling" back, but in the
mean time, I have a rotten dilemma.
If I throw on my wooden bats (I have 2), the holes are slightly bigger...
