Off topic - what do you watch by
Cheryl Isaak
We have satellite TV and I love the range of show out there that are far
more to my taste than the standard network fare. This is what is on during
stitching time and some of my housework time
First choice - craft shows excepting anything on scrap booking. I'll include
any antique shows with this...

What stitching would you take to a desert island?--on topic by
monique
What would you take to a desert island, stitching-wise? You have ONE
box that you can fill--24" x 12" x 12". You will be marooned for four
years. The island has food and water and shelter, but no LNS and no way
to order and have things mail-dropped. ; -)
If you like, you can be marooned with...

Social Security
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security
(FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary,
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first
$1,400 of their annual incomes into the Program,

OT War for the Spring Season :-) by
Tia Mary-remove nekoluvr to reply
OK Folks,
Lissen up. We have the Fresh (YESSSS) V. Artificial Christmas Tree Wars for
the winter and the Mayo V. MW (YUCKY stuff) Wars for the summer and Coke (OK)
V. Pepsi (BEST) Wars and PEEPS Wars for the slow times. I got to thinking that
we have nothing for the Spring. Personally, I feel...

Needlework Tips by
Tia Mary
It's been a long time since I remember having a round of postings
dealing with different needlework tips & hints. Since things seem to be
so slow, I thought this might be a good topic, especially for any
newbies out there or those of us who just forget stuff. I'll go first
since seeing the...

Awwww, the poor thing..... by
Karen C - California
Paris Hilton was ordered back to jail to serve the remainder of her
sentence. (or according to the CNN slug-line "sentencece")
Perhaps one of us could drop by and teach her to stitch so that she
doesn't have time to get weepy and depressed again?

Can't anyone proofread? by
Bmciowa
I am currently working a counted canvas chart and the directions are making me
crazy. (My sig is out of date, so don't look there.) I can figure out what
and where to stitch easily enough, but the copyediting is atrocious! Once and
for all, PLURALS DO NOT NEED APOSTROPHES!
To all designers: I...

asking experts by

Just an observation -- it seems perfectly reasonable for folks on
newsgroups to solicit advice and opinions, make comments, etc.
concerning the topics of the newsgroups. However, it continues to
amaze me that people on this and other groups actually ask for legal
advice, medical advice, tax...

I was asked the other day what I would like to see in the stitching
section of a local, independent craft shop. I know what I'd like to
see, and I wondered what others would find most important. So, if you
could design a stitchery shop or department, what would you insist it
offer, in the way of...

If this isn't proper newsgroup manners, please excuse me. I stumbled upon
this site through a Google search and just thought it was quite funny....you
know we all have those kinds of days where we like to stitch one of these
pieces haha. Be aware, there are a couple pieces that use...

OT - Been to the airport lately ? by
Julie
Hi !
I haven't been to an airport ( until yesterday ) since about 6 weeks before
the 9-11attacks. I had to send my two older children ( teens ) to Baltimore
from Detroit for the weekend. Because of the kids ages, they were
travelling as UA minors, so I got a pass through to go with them to...

New Year's Resolutions: On and Off Topic by
anne
I will not increase my stash of frames as I never have the right one anyway.
I will do a Brazilian embroidery sampler that's been languishing in a drawer
for awhile.
I will set up a bunch of subject specific doodle cloths and label each effort
with name of stitch or process. I'll make a history...

Firehouse Angel Framing Finale by
Tia Mary
HI Guys,
I went back to both Michael's and Susan's today to take a second
look at the stuff and discuss placement of the little plaque. The lady
at Michael's framing did NOT want to have anything to do with putting
the plaque on the mat -- no way, no how! She said she **would** do it
but really...
