I have a lot of 2 1/2 inch squares that I have been saving. This is from left over material that has been made into quilts. What kind of block or quilt can I make with 4 sq's, 6 sq's, 8 sq's or 12 sq's. I can use some ideas if anyone has can help.

All those 2 1/2 inch Squares by
[email protected]
Well I did finish "Home on the Range" quilt top and it came out great. I did have a little trouble with the flying geese.
I got out my box of 2 1/2 inch squares because I wanted to make 9 patch's for a quilt. I did make 21 of these 9 patches, using 2 colors, one was a contrast color. Now...

Tin Lizzie 18 by
Trixie
Does anyone have experience (good or bad) with a Tin Lizzie 18? I have a
Handi-Quilter frame with a Juki 98 and am considering trading up. Any
reviews will be greatly appreciated.

Lavender Love Quilt (renamed Blue Gold Love) by
[email protected]
Hello All,
Well I finished all my hot pads, think there were 17 hot pads made. I was going through some of my stash fabrics and found two fabrics that were the same design but just different background colors and got the idea of making another Lavender Love quilt which I made a few months...

More about the wonderclips by
Brian Christiansen
I finished the pants, sort of. I decided to go with the elastic in the
pants, but I cannot actually do that until I buy the elastic, but I did
sew the crotch seam and make a casing for the elastic.
I looked at the seams, and what I originally did was the suggestion made
that I make it into a...

Hot Pads by
[email protected]
Hello All,
Well after making 2 more butterfly quilt tops, each being smaller than the previous one because I made a mistake while cutting them out. Instead of cutting out 5 1/2 inch squares, I instead cut some 5 inch squares and it was only after I had cut 15 sets of these discovered my...

The quilt I am repairing by
Brian Christiansen
I have talked several times about a quilt I am repairing, and just
thought I would say some stuff about the progress of it.
It is kinda going slowly, but that is because I sew on a replacement
square, then let it sit for a while (sometimes a few days, sometimes as
much as a few weeks), but I...

pencil marks on quilt tops by
[email protected]
The "Fons & Porter Mechanical Pencil" IS wonderful!! You can get regular or white lead. It has an eraser, on it. I've had mine for years & love it. However; still trying to figure out WHY I grabbed a "Regular Pencil" not even a #2 type, the other day & now have ironed in, very dark, markings on my...

Different Butterfly Quilt by
[email protected]
This quilt is not the batik material that I used before. This time I just used 2-5 1/2 inch print squares for front wings, then another 2-5 1/2 inch solid/or mini print squares of contrasting material for back wings and then drew a line crosswise on each 2 1/2 inch white Kona material squares(need...

Butterfly Batik Quilt by

Hello Barbara,
Thank you for your comments about making quilts. Is this the only quilt or fabric newsgroup that you know of?? It just seem like some have left our newsgroup. Just hope Brian never leaves because I depend on his help so much.

Kindred Pinwheel by
[email protected]
Have a couple of comments to make about this quilt. They should of spent more time developing the pattern as there is too much waste of background material. The way the pinwheels are made, when you sew them together as blocks, some of your points are actually sewn off when you connect the blocks....

Dizzy Daisy Quilt by
[email protected]
This is what I am working on right now. To make one block You start out with 4-5 inch prints, 8-2 1/2 inch white squares and 4-2 1/2 inch squares of yellow or color of your choice for the centers. Take a pencil/ruler and draw a line diagonally on all the 2 1/2 inch squares. Now take a 5 inch...
