OT - Cat groups by
Cindy Schmidt
Was looking at the other newsgroups today for a cat group to join. Have a
couple of questions regarding Abby and wasn't sure which would be the best
one to join. Seen a lot of miscellaneous garbage in all of them.
Anybody there and care to give advice on the best one???

Guild Last Night by
teleflora
We had our Christmas party at Guild last night. Lots of great food, games
(I still suck at Bingo, no matter if it's called Quilt-o or not).
Every body brought a $5 wrapped gift and we stood in a big circle around the
room and the Program chair read a story. Every time she said the word
"right"...

Appyling binding to hot pads by
TerriLee in WA \(state\)
OK, does everyone but me know that basting the edges of the sandwich (cotton
top, Insulbrite, cotton batting, teflon silver stuff) together makes it 10
times easier to put the binding on? Why didn't someone tell me? Whew!!!
The first one took forever, the subsequent ones are going much...

Rotary Cutting Information by
Pat in Virginia
Rotary cutting is easy, but best results
come from careful use of the tools. Not
sure how to cut different shapes?
Here is a concise course for beginners,
as well as a refresher course for
seasoned quilters.

new WIP pic of Italian Wine by
kratersge
I've finished all the blocks, and completed my layout; thereby
preempting the living room for at least a week. You can *almost* all
of it in this; I stood on the piano bench and held the camera up
against the ceiling.

'Old' quilt repair help by
Charlotte Hippen
My son's quilt from his grandma is going to need some repairs soon and I
need the expertise of the group. It is not an 'old' quilt per-say. Just
one that he was given a few years back that has been loved and thus washed
frequently. As a result of the washings and use, the binding is wearing...

computer hell by
John
Yesterday was groundhog day for my computer. Ever time I posted
something it said it would be posted "momentarily" and then I would get
a "Server error" from Google. Thinking, that the server ate my post, I
reposted, again getting the server error from Google; and on , and on.
Finally, Jeanne from...

The house and truck by

I know that you are all wondering what is going on with us and that
house. Well IT AIN'T A GONNA HAPPEN. The man had told us that there
had been a meth lab in it and we never thought anything about it. I
was listening to Fox News (I think it was last Sat morn.) and they
started talking about...

OT A Blue Ribbon! Off Topic by

Off topic, but a blue ribbon
nonetheless! I a member of the County
Master Gardeners. Every year we
volunteer to make the exterior
decorations for a 18th Century Home near
Yorktown Battlefield. If you were in
Yorktown ... it is the last Main Street

First time guild member by
Alice
After moving to PA last year, I was looking for a quilting group or guild to
join. The one nearest to me has a limit of 50 members...and wouldn't you
know it...I was #51!! But I'm patient, and was able to join this past week.
At my first meeting (a wonderful Christmas lunch), I won two door...

Troubleshooting needed - free motion meanders... by
FurrsomeThreesome
Hello, all - been lurking inconsistently lately, just because on top of
being 2 baby quilts behind, with a heap of other UFO's, a new interest
in knitting socks and a crazy job, I don't have time to post.
BUT - I have set my goal of the 2 baby quilts being done in time for
holiday presents so I...

Quilt pattern test by
polly esther
I've just finished 'star pockets' from Quiltmaker March/April 2006 #108.
You can see the pattern at
www.quiltmaker.com/currentissue/108/project7/index.html well, their
version, not mine. Theirs is composed of sweet pastels and, of course, mine
is done in brights. I used Snoopy, bouncing...

OT- Update re DH in hospital by
Louise
As of today, it looks as though he'll be coming home on Thursday! The
physical therapist was in today, and she said he'd probably have a couple
more sessions tomorrow and then they'd be ready to kick him out.
I told him today that I'd asked all of you for prayers/good thoughts for his...

adding on to an existing quilt by
Kitty
Hi,
I'm not a regular here, I'm not even a regular quilter, but I am today.
I have a 3 yo grandson who had a favorite blankie which was a preused
quilt that was given to him a couple years ago. He loved that quilt
but the fabric is thin and had begun shredding as he slept with it so
we picked out...

Lap Quilts by
[email protected]
During the last snow storm, I decided to fill up the time stuck at home
I would take the scraps from the last quilt I made, and make an
identical quilt scaled down to baby-doll size. It ended up to be about
the size of a pillowcase, and (forgive me for tooting my own horn)....I
thought it was...

Butterfly! my first effort at quilting. by
Shirley Shone
I got the top for my quilt done but before I sandwich it together I
thought I had better have a practice on something smaller.
So with a few squares I had left over I decided to make a pillow sham,
although it could double as a cot quilt.
I got DH to make me an extension table for my machine....

Wheeeee (early Christmas present to myself) by
Sunny
It got here today, exactly 7 calendar days after ordering, shipped all
the way from Japan. I ordered four half-yard cuts from Fabrictales.com
(NAYY) and it's here. Ok, so I paid $10 for shipping, but it arrived by
registered mail and the fabric is so dreamy, so fine. I'm just sitting
here drooling...
