Is it hopeless? (signature quilt) by
DavesFatChick
Hi All,
I had no idea that all gel pens weren't permanent until I reviewed the
responses to my last post. Sure enough, the pens I chose are not colorfast.
Is there any way to set the ink or will this have to be a "no wash" quilt?
There are over 200 blocks and I have other things to do so I have...

Terbear Swappers BCA quilt #1 by
Terbear
I bought a bolt (not a full bolt) of BCA fabric, and lots of swappers
offered to make blocks so we can make a quilt, that can be auctioned off for
breast cancer research....I got so many blocks, enough to make TWO quilts.
Well, I just finished up quilt top number one, and will be working on...

invisible machine applique by
Sharon Gates
I took a class in invisible machine applique this afternoon - I think it may
be addictive :-) I really enjoyed it..The teacher was very good and she
chose a very simple tulip applique. I am really excited to try something
else.

It's been awhile by
Patti
I was wondering where you were; glad to know there was nothing 'new'
wrong. Coincidentally, we saw a few snippets of the current state of
New Orleans in our news bulletin at lunchtime. It doesn't take much of
an imagination stretch to think what the rest of Louisiana, and the
other badly affected...

OT Bottle or Breast? (joke) by
nana2b
A woman and a baby were in the doctor's examining room, waiting for the
doctor to come in for the baby's first exam. The doctor arrived, examined
the baby, checked his weight, and being a little concerned, asked if the
baby was breast-fed or bottle-fed.
"Breast-fed" she replied.
"Well, strip down...

How to make quilt with scraps and no pattern? by
Patti
Well, Judy, if these pieces are actually cut accurately, I had a thought
for which you would need to do no extra work at all!!:
divide them into two piles - light and dark (arbitrarily decide on
whether mediums are dark or light!). Sew a light to a dark, then take
pairs of these, turn them so...

I Spy top completely pieced! by
muse9
I finally have the first of two I Spy tops completely pieced with borders
added. This is for my DGS, Gavin, either for Christmas or for his birthday
depending on when I get both quilts totally done and quilted. ; ) I added
two of each fussy cut square to the top so he can play match games...

Fat Quarter Quilting Book by
Boca Jan
Can anyone recommend a good fat quarter quilting book? I have several
bunches of matching fat quarters and think I could make a nice quilt out of
each, but I'm too lazy this close to Christmas to design them myself.
Thanks!

template for fast wedding ring quilt... by
Cappy
About three weeks ago, I was up at the crack of dawn finishing up some floral
arrangements that needed to be out the door by 9:30. I had the local PBS
channel on in the background. One of the quilt shows had a woman demonstrating
this nifty plastic template for a quilt-as-you-go wedding ring...

Path Through Jerusalem by
NightMist
I've a notion to make my mom a quilt.
I know that this is a hazard, being as how she generally has always
felt about homemade, but there you go.
I was thinking of a Path Through Jerusalem quilt, problem being that I
haven't seen one for at least 20 years, though I saw several as a kid
traveling...

LOL at Joann Fabric! by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
All the auto manufacturers are offering new car buyers their "employee
discount" on their television commercials. I just got an email from
Joann Fabrics telling me I can get *their* employee discount of 15%
off. Sheesh! I'd much rather have a new pick-up truck!

Corner triangles? by
Johanna Gibson
I have blocks that finish at 6". I want to put these on point and
use cream fabrics for the 4 corner triangles. How large should I cut
the squares for this? Do I want the bias edge on the hypotenuse or on
the short sides?

SWAP coming..... It's for the BIRDS!! by
Kate G.
A while back I mentioned that I will be hosting a swap for bird seed/bird house fabrics after the
first of the year. We will be swapping twenty 8" x 10" squares of 2 fabrics per swapper:
1) something that looks like bird seed (pretty small scaled)
2) something that looks like a bird...
