Crinkly stuff by
Paulette
Larisa gave me the idea to try cellophane (she did some web surfing and
found out that is what they use most frequently). I am going to try it in
my Curious George panel book and let you all know how it turns out.
Thanks!
Paulette

Gather up long curtains by
[email protected]
Hi, I hope someone can help me with some curtain advice please. A
friend has some sheer lace curtains which are too long for the window.
She wants me to put a gather in the bottom of the curtains which will
bring them up to their correct length. She wants the gathering to be at
the bottom of the...

Rainwear fabric? by
Phaedrine
I need to make my daughter a raincoat and the fabric stores around here
(very large city) sell very little clothing fabric anymore. Ugh. (they
sell quilting fabric and craft stuff mostly). Do you know any reliable
places online where I can purchase rainwear fabric, please?

floral pin by
bheider
Have been seeing so many of these floral lapel pins lately at very high
prices. Wondering if someone here has ideas for making them -- can't be
sure about the fabrics they are using -- perhaps starched cotton but how do
they get the petal effect -- hot iron?? Would love some ideas. ...

fabric scraps for charity by
Dawn
All,
I have a pile of cotton and cotton blend fabrics suitable for quilting
or small crafts projects that I would be willing to send to someone for
the cost of postage. These are leftovers from my own projects and the
reality is that I will never use it for anything else. All clean,
smoke-free,...

Brother xl3010 by
Fyrman
Any chance anyone might have a digital owners manual for this machine?
We tried the web site but they want $25 for a downloadable copy. You'd
think after spending that much on a machine an owners manual wouldn't
be an issue!
Anyhow, my wife is on maternity leave right now so money's pretty
tight....

embroider at home. We send pre-cut pieces already marked out. All one needs

group fabric purchase by
CrazyLady
I could have sworn that within the last 2 weeks I saw on one of my
Yahoo or Google groups the mention of a group purchase of fabric.
Does this sound familiar to anyone or could you steer me in the right
direction?
Thanks, Carol

Got a cheap pattern! by
Arri London
Our local (in ABQ) Hancock's fabrics is having a sale on Simplicity
patterns. They are *all* USD1.99.
Don't know if this is a chainwide thing or not though.
Not having bought a 'regular' pattern in years, I was shocked at the
double-digit prices! Whew!

help with starter serger choice by

Janome vs Brother vs White etc...
Hi,
I am considering a Brother 1034d serger through Amazon...with discounts
and free shipping it's going to be $174. I have never used a serger
before but I'm looking for a basic workhorse that I can use mostly for
finishing fabric. I hand dye and quilt, so...

which of these books should I get? by
FtForger
OK, most of you know that I enjoy making nice lingerie for
DW. (I hope I'm using that abbreviation correctly). I want
to get better at it. I've got a few dollars in credit at
Amazon.com. I've got some other stuff ordered that should be
arriving around the 25th-28th of this month. So, I thought...

Karate Gi by
William E. Davenport
Looked high and low but could not find a pattern for my husband and son's
karate gi (traditional uniform). I'm a fair hand at sewing but don't know
how to make a pattern.
Any help would be appreciated.

Cerex brand interfacing by
Missy
I have been trying for three days to find some information about
this. I've Googled, Google Grouped, and Froogled. Other than
Monsanto (apparently the registered trademark of Cerex), which I also
searched, zip is what I get.
There is an auction on eBay I'm interested in. It is for 18" x...
