Its an idea that cas (lurker from oz) and I came up with when discussing fun
things our little group of instant messanger chatters could do in the coming
year. One of the things that keeps us from doing more swaps and...

A walk(ing foot) in the park by
KittyG
That sounds great Diana! I'm having trouble finding a walking foot for my
Brother, not a lot of info on the website (not one of their expensive ones
so very little on it !) so I know what it's like. Great it makes the MQ job
so much easier, one day, one day....

A weekend spent inspiring New Quilters by
Lizzy Taylor
I'm recovering from a weekend spent at the Manchester Mini Maker Faire
held at the Museum of Science and Industry. I spoke to lots of new
quilters many of who said they were inspired to go away and continue by
seeing my stuff - wow, what a buzz that has given me! I explained about
sandwiching,...

a wild idea for Hug blocks by
Queen of Squishies
I have a wild and crazy idea. What if all the huggers on the hug list were
to go to the same web site and buy the same 6 1/2" square ruler as I have?
................ nahhhh............... Life might get boring if we get too
much uniformity going on! LOL
(but if you're interested, I will...

A Win at the tiny Coe Hill Ontario Fair by
Susan Torrens
My SIL convinced me to enter some quilts in her local fair. I received a
3rd place in the baby quilt category (1st and 2nd were won by hand quilters,
and one was a panel).
I won 1st place for machine quilting, bed quilt, and this will go on to the
district competition.

A Wonderful and Glorious Hug! by
Helen in WI[_3_]
My Dearest Friends,
I am stunned ! I never thought that I would be ever on the other end of a
hug quilt. I love making blocks for other peoples hugs and hearing about
their joy of receiving a quilt. I cried and murmured"oh, my God" about 50
times!
it is so, so beautiful and the quilting is...

A wonderful day! by
AliceW
I used to quilt with a great group of folks every other Wednesday. I met
these ladies when I took a course at my LQS one Saturday. It was a small
group, 5-6 at any given time, but we got lots of quilts done. The person
who hosted the group (most of the time due to small kids and the abundance
of...

instructions are clear, accurate and generous, none of that "no extra

A WONDERFUL SURPRISE by
Mr. King of Squishies
When I returned from the Dr. this afternoon I found something amazing
waiting for me in the living room. A box addressed to me from someone that I
didn't think I knew. As my wife, Queen of Squishies, waited expectantly I
opened it to find the most grand hug that I could imagine. I was awe...

Pati Cook stopped by today with the most beautiful Hug quilt I've ever seen.
I can't thank all you folks enough for your many kindnesses to me since Mom
died. I've been pretty quiet here, not much time for reading and posting.
It's really wonderful to know that not only am I not forgotten,...

A Word About Newsgroup Content by
Virtue Smythe
Recently an author provided information to the news group concerning
the availability of a recently published book.
It was encouraging to notice that the "defenders" of their "no
advertising policy" for the newsgroup remained silent and didn't
chastise the author for breaching that...

A word about squishing by

I got squished today. It wasn't a surprise, I knew it would be coming.
But when I held the envelope and felt it go "squish" in my hands, I got
such a warm and fuzzy feeling . (The sender has been thanked privately,
but here is another Thank You to her too :-)
So, if you ever get the urge to...

So I'm working on a store sample, made from fabric foundation strips.
