Question - Bead Loom by
Dr. Sooz
I find off-loom beadweaving much more fun, and variable, and creative.
Loom-weaving isn't as flexible, IMO, creatively.
And if you're going to buy a loom, get a Larry The Loom -- that's what all my
loom-weaving pals say. They bemoan the money spent (wasted!) on any other
looms they bought before...

beadpoint question by
just me
hello all -
I've been reading, trying to learn a new craft. Apparently I've picked a
more obscure part of beadwork or you all are not a group who practice it. I
have a question or two. I've been trying to find seedbeads sized 15/0
locally. I've tried a couple shops that I thought would have a...

It's sad to hear you had that experience. I completely understand where
you're coming from - deep down, the child in you wonders, if my family can't
love me, who can? You can give yourself the love they can't give,...

sad nooz by

When I first started reading and posting here in rec-crafts-beads, I
was delighted to find people who share many of my own passions and
also some troubles and ways of dealing with them. I made friends, many
of whom I have never seen in the flesh. We share our love of beads,
creativity, family and...

Micro Macrame Patterns and Training by
[email protected]
My wife has created a bunch of patterns using Micro Macrame. She was looking for patterns online and found that she couldn't find hardly any. So she decided to start creating her own. I'm good at building websites, so I helped her post her new patterns online. You can find them at a...

More on the demo...... by

All the advice on the other post was wonderful! Thanks for posting your
thoughts and experences.
Well, I DID email the bead shop owner and tell her that I couldn't do the
demo because of lack of supply (beads) and and some other minor reasons.
Here is what she replied: (I had a feeling no...

Michael Michaud jewelry (my necklace) by
Dr. Sooz
This'll interest KDK -- I got one of those pieces we saw at Rose Quartz in SF!
The Plum necklace down at the bottom left picture on the page (#7818) is the
one I now own with glee.
I love this guy's jewelry! And it's not something I can make...

A question for lampworkers by
Diana Curtis
I ask this question in total ignorance of the processes you go thru to make
lampworked beads. Almost total. I know there is melted glass involved, and
mandrels, and release stuff....and flame..
My question is, what are the most labor intensive type of beads? I see
florals, and stripes that appear...

Another Ad: A couple of ONE CENT auctions by
Tinkster
Now, you guys know I'm pretty even tempered and pretty easy to get
along with. Right? Well someone emailed me today. A lampwork artist.
The content of the email was a tirade/rant about my web and auction
prices being low and how I'm wrecking the industry and blah blah blah.
Well, I don't think...

What sells best at a craft show for you? by
midi73
I was just wondering (since the time is here again) what sells best at
craft shows for you guys. I'm talking local craft shows.
For me it seems to be handmade bead rings from either brass, plated
wire or copper using czech fire polish beads or glow in the dark
beads. Inexpensive but cute and...

barrette I saw at the mall by
Mystified One
There's a store at the mall near us called Pink World. Mostly it's full of
frilly stuff that I wouldn't be caught dead in, although they have some
great little handbags (beaded), and necklaces and barrettes. It's more of a
teen store.
Yesterday, I took my daughter in there (joke is she hates...

Straightening memory wire? by
quixote
Anyone have any experience straightening memory wire?
I'm working on some projects where I'm making some tiny Abacus using
glass beads. My first models used floral wire, but I've found that
it's too bendable for my purposes.
I looked at memory wire, and it seems to be a very thin spring...

on writing. I've been published quite a lot and am currently studying

OT Lest anyone see me as harsh by
Dr. Sooz
I want to explain something. I know I don't need to, but I need to. I need to
ask some things too.
I have a bad reaction to people coming here and asking us to do their legwork
for them, and displaying other bad manners. By that I don't mean someone like
Pam, who asks what we think about...
