Category change on eBay? by
Kalera Stratton
A few lampworkers have been discussing lately something which concerns
most of us here... the lampwork categories on eBay. We were talking
about how lots and lots of us emailed eBay and they gave us a new
category; lampwork handmade US. Unfortunately, that category is woefully
inadequate, as it...

OT-old Starlia posts-long by

I plucked these out of Google. Her last posts sound pretty bad. I can't help
but wonder if she had a breakdown of sorts. If her DH has shame about this he
wouldn't exactly be wanting to tell anyone...

using a crock pot instead of a kiln? by
Pam
A woman in my jewelry class said a friend of hers uses a crockpot with some
(vermiculite? or something??) instead of a kiln. Is this possible? I'm sure
you will all tell me why this is a bad idea... or maybe it's ok for
beginners???
Thanks :)

OT Happy Thanksgiving and What are your Plans? by
LilyFlower
Hi,
Best wishes for a wonderful holiday, however you chose to celebrate!!
I've always thought there is something special about Thanksgiving,
time to spend with friends and family without all the pressure of
gifts (even though that's fun too)!!
I share the cooking with a friend and my son (he's the...

AD: It's the Teal Thing by
Susan B.
I just posted a small set of transparent teal green/copper green beads
on JustBeads. Cool and calm colors. Now I'm off to pick up the silver
foil I ordered, and take out all the reduction frits that just arrived,
and play with silver and other metallic effects - probably my all time
favorite thing...

Great art verses reputation by
starlia
I think you are right on Roxan. Dan and I frequently purchase art from
unknowns because we love the artwork. Maybe someday they'll be famous or
maybe they already are and we don't know it. The fact remains we buy what
calls to us.

"Tic Tac" storage boxes by
Rachel T.
Just thought I'd pass this along....
Wal Mart is apparently re-doing their beady stuff inventory and is now selling
those Tic Tac bead storage boxes. I believe they had 24 of them for $4 and
something. There was a smaller amount too (12 I think) but I don't remember how
much they wanted for...

problem with clasp..how do I fix it? by
Amber
I bought a really nice sterling silver clasp at a bead show yesterday.
It's an S hook, but instead of the hook connecting to plain rings, it
connects to two dragon heads. There are loops on the back of the heads
for attaching the clasp to the piece of jewelry, but I didn't notice
until today that...

Good news, and agonizing over kiln purchase by
Kalera Stratton
OK, I finally quit my job (YAY!) and even though I'm gonna miss it
there, I am now living my lifelong dream of being a self-supporting
artist! OK, well, I'll be living that dream in a week when I'm all done
with my scheduled hours at Rejuv.
So, amidst my celebrating, I realized that I really,...
