from Liz Hampton-stitching news by thistletoes
Liz Hampton writes in care of me: "If you go to the following link and go down to the bottom of the page, you'll see two of the "Sisters Samplers" that I made several years ago for my sisters and myself. There are two more, but one is at sea en route between England and the U.S. and the other is...

I'm really excited! by carol
Hi, Have you ever stitched any of my kits, charts, freebies or the sampler we are working on in my newsletter? If so, could I ask a favour? I have added a page: http://www.needlework-tips-and-techniques.com/x-calibre-designs.html

Another craft shop bites the dust! by Pat P
Our only remaining needlework/craft shop has just closed down. IMO it had just spread itself too far - with every craft you could imagine - but I feel that they all suffered as a consequence. If you`re back home and reading this, Rosemary - I took you in there for a look round. Pat --

Two Visits by Cheryl Isaak
I am a bit remiss in my posting about recent visits First - last Friday, Elizabeth (aka Dr. Brat) stopped on her way home from showing Cash - and showed off his new blue ribbon (how did he do on Saturday?) We had lunch and talked a lot. I showed her some new stash and walked in the garden. I think...

Need US Source for Dinky Dyes by Tia Mary
Hi Guys, When I was at CATS last year, I bought several different colors of Dinky Dyes silk floss. I have started one of the projects I bought the fiber for and am pretty sure I will need more than the one skein I purchased. My "not so" LNS doesn't carry Dinky Dyes nor does Thread...

what can be done? by thistletoes
I almost hate to say the name out loud. Those people? who have been posting political messages and clogging not only our nice little stitchery group, but our personal inboxes for those of us who get the digest email. Any thoughts? Deb

OT - I'm sure you'll all appreciate this by Bruce
A woman was sitting at a bar enjoying an after work drink with her girlfriends when an exceptionally tall, handsome, extremely sexy middle-aged man entered. He was so striking that the woman could not take her eyes off him. The young-at-heart man noticed her overly attentive stare and walked...

Project You're Excited to Start but Haven't Started Yet by Donna
The fall issue of Sampler and Antique Needlework Quarterly has Martina Dey's Tsunami Relief sampler in it. Instead of using Vicky Clayton's silks, I kitted up with Crescent Colours. I still need to pick fabric, but this project is fairly shouting at me to start now. Donna in Virginia

Having just picked up crewel embroidery again after nearly thirty years, I'm in need of any and all tips and tricks. Do you use knots? If not, how are you starting and ending threads? Do you outline a solid area to be stitched with buttonhole or something else? or just stitch to the edges with...

New books by bungadora
Well, after nearly a year of waiting I finally received iRoyal School of Needlework Embroidery Techniques/i - I bought it on sale and it got backordered. Nice looking book, but in order to really assess how good it is I'll have to sit down and actually work my way through it. That could be a...

acronyms by thistletoes
Here is a question. For those of us who are fairly new, and not familiar with all the acronyms, please un-encrypt "LNS". I think it might be local needlework shop, but that is just a wild guess. Some acronyms used in this group appear on those websites that list hundreds of chat acronyms and...
