I broke the rules by
Millie
I guess I broke the rules of this group by using the "for Sale" term,
it was never my intention to cause a problem, I only wanted to offer
some of my 66 years worth of expertise to someone who wanted it.
SPAM is something I never associated with myself until now, I have
given many free hours of my...

buying lumber for an external chimney by
patrick
If you don't have access to power tools . . .
Instead of getting a large sheet that you would have to cut multiple times
to come up with the correct widths, buy a few pcs. cut to the width and then
you would only have to cut the lengths. The precut Midwest lumber Basswood
strips range in price...

I want to try out using the thin wooden Coffee Stirrers as wooden

Printing quilts onto material by
betsyb
I sangged a bunch of quilt photos off a newsgroup and thinking of printing
them onto material. I think in an old dollhouse they would look wonderful
all folded in piles.
Got the printer, got the pics but have no idea how.

Paint for doll-house building? by
Cathy Weeks
Hi all,
What's the difference between the paint sold in dollhouse craft
stores, and the stuff sold at your average hardware store? Quantity?
Viscosity? I don't have a convenient dollhouse store nearby and trying
to look at paint colors over the computer is giving me a headache.
I'd rather go in...

Kit or Homeade? by
Jennie
So I am curious, purchased kit or homeade project (with plans or without?)?
I have done both. I did a cheap Greenleaf kit, then built my current
project without plans (tough). I also built my daughter a 'barbie' scale
house that is too tall for her. It was fun and so much easier then the
little...

dollhouse plan by
Patrick
Herb, I must say that in my three years of learning by reading in this
newsgroup . . . you have always been there with a tip or link. The other
four that chime in are to be thanked also--good people! I have learned so
much and don't know if anyone ever said thank you, so here is mine. Thank
you....

Painting walls by
Metis-Artist
I read somewhere that instead of trying to sand the wood to get perfectly
smooth finish you can apply that sticky "mac tac" shelf lining and paint
that.
Has anyone tried this before?
Any other suggestions?
I really don't want to wallpaper.

I need Roofing Advice by
David
I was wondering how to stain these little pices of wood. I have tried
dipping, and brushing, It takes forever to do a few, and need to do
1000. Also what kind of glue do I use to put them on. Can these be
purchased already stained?
Thanks.

Marble Tile Revisited by
Chuck
I haven't seen anything of Vicky since her initial thread on marble
tile, so I'm wondering if she is still reading this group. If you
are, I have a couple of questions:
What are your construction skills/capabilities, as far as refining raw
materials for use in your dollhouse?
and
What sort of...

Adding to the electrical after the fact? by
Cathy Weeks
Ok, I just got the electrical starter kit (now if only the rest of the
supplies would arrive, then I can get started!). I know I have to plan
for all outlets and light fixtures now, and that's no problem.
But, the kit doesn't come with the larger brads for the outlets, nor
does it come with...

Hanging miniature wallpaper by
Pat
Hi,
One of the most frustrating tasks for me is wallpapering assembled
dollhouses. The space is too small, my hands are too big, and I just can't
see. I have documented a better way for me on my website. I am sure it is
not original but it is a step by step...

Wallpapering directly to walls or to posterboard first? by
Cathy Weeks
I had an idea about wallpapering - it's going to be difficult working
in such enclosed spaces, (though the gable is done already - I did
that portion prior to assembly - I KNEW I'd never be able to get
inside there) and I was wondering how I was going to hide some of my
(ahem) messy electrical tape...
