machine wish list by
Betty Maxey
I have been looking to get a new machine, and it looks as though what I'd
like does not exist. Looking at Bernina, Viking, and Pfaff, currently. I
like the large 9 inch work area of the mega quilter and grandquilter, but do
not want to get one of those big stands. I did try one out at the...

OT Introducing The Spunky Lady Organizer handbag! by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
My Janome 6600 sm decided it had enough after one handbag! The stinker- it
quit making stitches, so Monday morning off to the repair shop it goes. I
switched to my little Janome Jem and made a tote to be used with a walker.
If you click on each picture, there is a description under the...

At the second hand store I found a Singer French addtion treadle

($75 talk down to $50ish) except for the band which needs tightening
it is in perfact condition. I am busy talking my self out of it. DH

Ping Sandy in Henderson by
Shona in NZ
Hey Sandy,
My Mum is talking about possibly making a trip to Las Vegas while I am
there. If we do, I am guessing it will be sometime during the last two weeks
in June, are you going to be around for a meet-up?

Full circle by
Michelle C.
Had a quilting realization yesterday--I've come full circle. When I
first started quilting, I did everything by hand because I didn't know
much about using a sewing machine, and mine was temperamental to boot.
When I finally got a good sewing machine, I vowed to become comfortable
with it, and...

Quilt week Day 3 Sunday by
maryd
An advantage to having DH out of town, I don't have as many distractions to
take me from my quilting. Today I finished piecing a mystery quilt and put
the border on. Tomorrow I hope to get a ride to town and get backing for
it. I got out some pre-quilted fabric that had been given to me. Cut it...

Double Happy Dance! by
Maureen Wozniak
I finally (took a year to do the hand appliqué) finished a quilt. And
DBF likes it enough that he agreed to hang it in the dining room.
Last summer--nearly a year ago--Suzanne Marshall did a workshop on her
take away appliqué for our guild. Finally finished that one block,
added some borders,...

Deciding on Quilt Size? by
dogmom
When you aren't sure of a specific purpose for a gift quilt, what determines
how big you make it? When it turns into an odd size do you just finish it or
do you try to make it a more useful size? One reason I like giving folks I
love quilts is that they're very practical gifts--but not if their...

keeping the roll call by
Susan Laity Price
I have not found the time to right my own bio response but have
enjoyed reading everyone else's. I plan to keep all the responses in a
folder with the directory. Someone please remind me who started this
thread. I think they deserve a reward (soft of course).

Derek Hartmann
Joan,
I will check with OLFA concerning the wear on cutting mats by using the
rotary pinking shears and see if they have any suggestions on how to extend
the life of your mats.

Machine Quilting HELP for a NEWBIE by
Kathy in CA
The walking foot has feed dogs to move the top of the fabric while the feed
doge under the fabric are moving the botton of the fabric. The guide is used
so that if you quilt in straight lines that you get the lines evenly spaced
across the quilt--the quilt guide is placed on one of the lines you've...
