Grace under Fire by Polly Esther[_5_]
Who received the Worst Christmas present? I've received a gaggle of pin cushions. The cutsey-poo crafty kind. (groan) I don't like pin cushions, don't use them and do (a whole lot) hate useless clutter. I did an appropriate amount of ohhh! and ahhh! but it just might be that they get...

OT; Left over wood project. by John
Here is what has been occupying my time, while I plan the Double Wedding ring quilt for my nieces wedding gift. I had these few boards of cherry laying around in the basement shop and they called to me about their need to be moulded into a useful purpose; other than a stack of boards in the...

Dick and Jane Found!!! by Michele
What a miracle! I am setting up my new sewing room and started going through all the boxes that had been packed up by the crews of people after the tornado. A large portion of my fabric stash had been in the attic. The attic and second floor were missing after the tornado. I opened a box full...

Quilt for ME - December....last month by Jalynne
Well, how have we done this year? I thought I'd get more done than I have....but you know, it's been a lot of fun. I'm that much closer to having more quilts in my house, and I've loved hearing about your progress as well. I got the majority of the machine quilting done on DH's blue star banner...

OT Finally Closing! by Night Mist
After much fuss and bother we finally have a closing date! We close this Friday. I got the confirmation from the lawyer this morning. The seller's lawyer dragged their tail about getting ours the needed papers, so he had to work at top speed because our grant expires on the fourth. This is...

Charlotte Yde's books by Hanne Gottliebsen
Someone just posted a link to Charlotte Yde's homepage, and I went to have a look. I did see this before, but didn't notice her book page. Lo and behold, there was the Contemporary Quilts from Scandinavia, which I saw at a Quilt Festival and didn't get before someone else did (grrr). A couple of...

Heat n bond question? by [email protected]
You can buy this heat and bond at Wal-mart as I use it all the time. You apply it to the back of the fabric, then heat it with an iron, pull off paper and then applique it. Don't think it would work for turning under but works good for blanket stitch or zig zag. Sandy$

OT please sign your posts by Pat in Virginia
Hello! We've been having some lively conversations here lately. I do enjoy the various quilt topics, and some of the off topic as well. For me, every post would be even better if it was signed. Quite a few are not signed lately. When I send a "real" letter, I put a return address on the...

Am I invisible? by KI Graham
Or just being ignored? I was hoping for some feedback about sending quilts to be part of a museum display, but got no response. I'm trying again before I slink back to my corner... I've been asked to submit some quilts to a museum wishing to mount a display of "religious quilts." Since this is...

Another use for fabric scraps by jennell H
It is that time of year when the small creatures are looking for nesting materials. I have been keeping smaller scraps of batting and flannelette for the last several months to leave near the ravine. The last pieces that I put out disappeared almost immediately - it was fun to watch the squirrels...
