I've received an email that may be spam but got me thinking about my website
on Yahoo. I love my beadwork and want to display it the best possible way at
the least possible cost.

Unfortunately yahoo has its minimum bandwidth to contend with and this makes
my freebie site pretty limited (I'm using clickable images). 3 GB metered
hourly. 15 mb storage. All of my images blow
this away very quickly and I need more storage.

**I do not wish to sell anything. This isn't a business.**

Its been suggested (and I do agree) that an image is better and more
interesting than a link.

SO.

I ask you the beaders etc for your feedback on what you use, what you'd
suggest and if I may, what you pay. I'd prefer to pay as little as possible.
I don't require my own domain name (although a nice
bonus if it comes cheaply).

!!Please please help me with my bead obsession. Yahoo just doesn't cut it
anymore!!

Info received thus far:
DAYANAHOST:
US$5.95/year
1 GB Bandwidth/day, 10 mb storage
I'm concerned with "Additional bandwidth would be $3.99 per GB per month and
payable annually"
http://www.dayanahost.com/personal_plans.cfm

FOR YAHOO:
-Yahoo Plus $4.95/month (seems really expensive)
5 GB bandwidth/day, 25MB storage

Bead Hugs.

I use Netfirms.com - they have a free package, I believe, and they also have
paid packages that start around $60 per year. They have always been very
reliable for me.

Karen,

I use dayanahost.

I haven't had any problem at all with the additional bandwidth thing
(possibly because I don't have a huge ammount of traffic?... but if you
think about it, 1 GB dl / month is a LOT, especially if you correctly
edit your photos.)

I've got to say... you get what you pay for.

Mostly, they don't have the advertised support. If you're not planning
to use the fancy features (which you aren't with your current site) it
isn't that bad. They definately don't have the 24/7 support they claim
(yeah, there is an online interface to talk to them, but they never
actually answer on it. And then I get surely answers to my emails when
I stupidly act as if I expect them to be around 24/7, saying things like
"do you actually expect that we are around 24/7? That is not possible
for a person to do". Well, maybe not, but it is possible for multiple
people to do if they are actually staffed for 24/7 support.)

Their downtime seems to be more then they advertise, but again, with a
non-commercial site, you probably wouldn't really notice. Sometimes
there seems to be something of a delay on the email, if you choose to
use your free email addresses.

All in all, well worth the $5.95/year but I'm guessing it doesn't
compare to the service you would get if you were paying, say,
$5.95/month or $59.95/month elsewhere.
