Hi friends!
I would like to crochet an American flag pillow for a friend of mine.
I wouldn=C2=B4t like to use granny squares or similar to compose it and I=
=20
would like to crochet it as a "whole" pattern, sorry I can=C2=B4t explain=
better.
I searched by Gooogle and Altavista, using a lot of different=20
combinations: American flag, old glory, star and stripes, pillow,=20
cushion, fourth of July and so on...
I found only one (1) pattern, which has the 50 stars as little=20
applications to be sewn, no way for me! LOL I can=C2=B4t embroider them=20
either, since I risk to mess the work with my poor embroidering skills.
Can any of you please point me to a simple pattern?
Hugs,
Anna Maria

I found a site where you can order a pre-made pillow. Maybe she'll sell you
the pattern:
http://www.geocities.com/joyce250/JOYCESAFGHANS_PAGE1.html
Or you can order a small booklet for $2.13 with a similar pattern from:
http://ddshandmades.safeshopper.com/3/1155.htm?423
Or the same booklet for $4.25 at:
http://www.karpstyles.com/catalog.html?item=212&catid=Christmas&ret=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.karpstyles.com%2Fcatalog.html %3Fpage%3D1%26category%3DChristmas
Good luck in your search!

Thanks Aud for the suggestions.
The sweaters have applique white stars and I have no idea where to find
them in Sweden. There are little white stars used by Italian Navy on
their shirts, maybe my mother can find them for me...
The little angel is lovely.

Thanks!
I LOVE this one, but here it=B4s very difficult to find good n. 10 thread=
=20
in red and blue :-(
I have to wait to go to Italy and buy thread there. Or a little trip to=20
Estland, that=B4s sound yummy :-)
Here comes a question from someone who didn=B4t go to a American school.
I just had to make Italian flags, which are not so difficult, even if=20
many people manage to put green and red on the wrong sides LOL
Which is the proportion between the star field and the remaining part of =
the flag? Maybe if I know this "secret" I can make my own pattern.
Thanks a lot for your patience,
Anna Maria

Hello Anna Maria,
I went to an American school, but I don't think they ever taught us
the proportions of an American flag! If they did, I was absent that
day.
However, I found this web site that has all the specifications:
http://www.usflag.org/flag.specs.html
All of the numbers are given as proportions of the width from top to
bottom. The site also has the names of the official colors in two
different color systems, neither of which I ever heard of.
