Clair,I notice that Stella said the rug is machine knitted - but I thought
it looked like the lovely ones I have seen made from plaited strips of
various fabrics - whichever it is it is really beautiful. Stella does
magnificient work - I love the bread doiley but then I love all her work -
just imagine the time and effort in all those toys !!!

The little red coat looked really great when I had finished it. It was
very easy to do - all garter stitch, which made it very firm which was good
for a coat. I do no know from where the pattern came - I think it is from
a very very old Pattons book as the pages seem the same type as one I have
which was my very first knitting book which taught me how to knit about 66
years ago !!! It also has instructions on how to chrochet but I am afraid I
am a complete failure at that art

I got to do this coat from a post on this group requesting someone who could
knit from old patterns to do a garment for the lady's little girl and I
answered and so this is the result - It kept me busy while sitting up to
watch the tennis at Wimbledon.

Bye God Bless gwen
