thanks everyone for your reassurances and suggestions. I think I will
just go ahead and make up the sweater as is, and then learn from it.
if it ends up too big, then some lucky person will get a nice handknit
sweater. maybe my mom!

it's going a bit slower now that I don't have a cross country flight
to work on it, but I'm enjoying it all the same.

Mary all the proffesors spoke before me , here is an other idea ,after
finnishing you might add elastic to the midriff , and /or make some
embroidery that will squeeze it , and or little folds with embroidery
, faults make us very creative !!!
